What is your destiny, Manos?
Visitors of Proteus (Titania’s Flower Garden Start)
With certainty, you selected the second option, wondering what changes this “Garden” will make to your home in this cave. At first, nothing happened.
You feel the disappointment begin to rise when you notice a soft green glow come from below you. Just under the furs the glow began to brighten, the feeling of innumerable somethings stretching up to press against you. It isn’t long before you find out what it was, the area and glow spread out, blades of grass and nightshade begin popping up from the ground in a circle around you, filling the cavern. Poppies and mushrooms of all different sizes grew to various heights, the smallest barely the height of your pinkie toe, the tallest reaching your waist if you stood.
The glow began to fade from green to blue as it reached to climb the walls, vines climbing and moss speckling the walls. You wonder how deep a sleeper Alystera is when you hear her gasp. It seems she managed to catch the changes just as the glow reached above the both of you.
Out towards the entrance, you notice the fire pit vanish, the small hole shifting wider and the edges surrounded in a double layer of toadstool. Within the center you spot a small sapling beginning to rise to about 7 inches before stopping. You felt a brief pang of annoyance at the loss of your pit, but it’s probably worth it if those things are edible. You take a guess and glance to your watering hole, noticing it shift quietly, the stone melting and the water dipping lower into a pool before stretching out, leading across the corner of the room, acting as a stream that flowed faster, leading into some deeper unknown.
After it reached the edge of the cave, the glow faded, leaving only the mushrooms growing along the ceiling to faintly glow like stars in a dark green sky. The entrance seemed to shrink some, and with it a strange feeling of serene calm washed over the place. As you ponder the change in feeling, you receive a few notifications.
The garden has been constructed successfully.
Quest! Protect the sapling! (Perpetual)
Keep your connection to the realm of Titania and Oberon. Consequences are hard for one who cannot protect their grove.
Quest! Prepare for Influx! (One time) 71:58:56
A shift has occurred within the realm of Fae, those seeking aid may arrive. Ensure they are comfortable.
This was less than ideal, a weak looking tree to protect or else and now you need to figure out how to house who knows how many other creatures. Let alone what kind of Fairies would arrive.
Whilst you pondered this new problem, your woman stood, she went to examine the changes made, “how did you do this?” She finally asked after a few moments. “Was this part of the new update?”
“You didn’t read the update notes?” You snort, stopping from saying more as you pick up a familiar smell on the breeze.
“No, I can’t access most things once my player deleted me.” She muttered, examining the sapling now. “Are you a dungeon boss now?”
You ignore the question, walking past Alystera to chase the scent, it was just barely noticeable in the cave. That only means it’s closer than you’d like. Stepping out of the ca...grove, a particularly strong breeze hit you, goblins, you’re not sure how many but you know they don’t come close to you without a reason.
Scanning the treeline, you keep alert, Alystera comes up during it asking “what’s going on?” You glance back and she’s eyeing the trees with you, on edge with your silence.
“Dunno, but keep yourself where I can see you.”
Your grip on your weapon tightens, the wood groaning as nothing appears from the darkness. Seconds turn to minutes, and then as the moon hangs just above the trees, something happens. Your ears pick up the sound just before your eyes spot the black bird soaring into the clearing from the treeline.
The sight surprised you, crows weren’t uncommon, yet this one had eyes glowing red, mesmerizing in it’s gaze. Your instincts were on fire, hyper focused as it landed atop a dead bush. It seemed content to preen with one eye focused on you.
You were ripped away from the small creature with the sounds of underbrush shifting, a group of goblins came into the clearing and into view. They looked...rather battered. With a quick attempt to examine their info, you got some facts.

Level 3 Feathers, Goblin
Monster, Female, Goblin, Explicit
Barbarian, Yellowbrook Tribe
The one heading the sorry group was a barbarian, placing her massive hammer down in exhaustion. She seemed the most well off.

Level 2 Flutters, Goblin
Monster, Female, Goblin, Explicit
Ranger, Yellowbrook Tribe
The ranger of the group, this Flutters was wounded but still able to stand on her own two feet unaided. She led in the middle, bow slung across her back whilst she half carried the final member of this odd trio.

Level 1 Shiny, Goblin
Monster, Female, Goblin, Explicit
Tradesman, Yellowbrook Tribe
The final goblin was covered in bandages, all fresh. Various bloodstains, some of which bled through her overcoat, riddled her body. This last one, Shiny, was barely conscious.
Once the three of them made it fully into the clearing, the barbarian, Feathers, knelt low. Shiny seemed to collapse, and Flutters went down softening her fall. The barbarian was the one to speak up, “Flutters talk bird, send us here,” She seemed to hyperventilate as she attempted to catch her breath, “home gone, offer everything.”
What tidings, they change. Accept the goblins or cast them away?
