The Evolution and Culture game is a magical pamphlet whose origins no one cares about. This, like many devices, allows its user to alter reality, but unlike, say, Master PC, this one has rules. You can only alter reality once, and if you don't like the results, too bad; live with the consequences. But you're also not free to change the world however you want. You first have to write a coherent argument for how humanity could have evolved. Depending on how well you do, you can shape the culture of the new reality however you want. But if you shape the new culture without taking into account the evolution you've already written, there's a penalty. Depending on how many mistakes you make, the new world will be shaped to a greater or lesser extent to harm you. You'd better be smart and patient, because a single mistake could turn your perfect world into hell.
