Waifu Impact - Another Life With My Wife

Waifu Impact - Another Life With My Wife

An Genshin Impact Isekai Story

Chapter 1 by CandidBandit CandidBandit

Disclaimer: I do not own these characters or this fictional world. They belong to mihoyo. All characters are 18 or over, and others have been aged up. There will be no loli's here.

Authors note: I have been wanting to write a Genshin fanfic for a while now, but never had a clear idea of what I wanted from it. Then recently I was browsing another site, royalroad, for stories to read and came across a story with an isekai gimmick that I hadn't thought of before. A married couple being isekai'd. I really liked the idea, and the story I read had some promise, but there weren't many chapters. I didn't feel like waiting too long for more to be released and an idea started to form. So, here's my new fanfiction. (And don't worry about my RWBY story. I'm still writing for it.)

Are We In A Video Game?

The couple walked through a vast void. They didn’t know where they were, or how they got there. Their thoughts were slow and uncertain, but they held each other's hand tightly. Not once did they think of letting go.

They walked for a time. A day? A year? They couldn’t remember. There was nothing to show the passage of time. There was a fog in their minds that made it difficult to question or wonder. All they knew was to not let go of the other.

Suddenly, a person appeared in front of them. Or perhaps they had been there for a while. The couple didn’t act with surprise. One moment they were walking, then the next, they stood transfixed by an otherworldly presence.

A tall woman, her features obscured by ethereal light. Light that moved in strange and beautiful colors and patterns. She stood there and regarded the couple. Then she spoke.

“You have left your world behind.” Her voice rang across the void like bells. There was something calming in that pretty sound. The couple relaxed in front of her. “It was a life cut too short, yet lived with passionate love. I adore that love. I wish to see it bloom brightly. Even with your... interesting desires.”

The woman looked especially at the woman of the couple.

“Your... particular... interests would find great bounty in the world I govern. Your desire to see the one you love,” She then looked to the male. “Be surrounded by many loves... I can understand that feeling.”

Though her face was difficult to truly see, her smile was warm.

“And your interests,” She then looked to the man. “Are of particular note. It makes me curious to see it, so for the two of you I will grant that power.” She said to the man, then glanced back to the woman.

Her meaning was lost on them, and yet there was a feeling of acceptance.

“So, won’t you come with me? Be a part of my world. Find love and adventure. Fulfill your desires.” The radiant woman raised her arms to the couple. She beckoned them to take her hands. “You may even recognize the world I care for.”

There was a knowing tone in that last sentence.

She waited for them with patience and the couple felt emboldened. They tightened their grip on each other and reached out to the tall woman together. The void turned to a blinding white when their hands touched.

Their time in the void came to an end.

Pathways in the sky. Towers rose above. The two were stopped by a strange woman. They fought to leave this world. One was taken from the other. Cubes of destruction blotted out his vision.

These images and impressions passed through the mind of a young man like a dream. The scenes felt familiar, like he’d seen them before, but from a different perspective.

The young man saw the blonde hair and the strange clothing and felt the twinge of remembrance somewhere in the back of his mind. He was a passenger as someone reached out for the strange woman from inside the cubes of destruction. They called out for their sister...

...then he woke up.

He woke up to the sounds of birdsong and rustling trees. The sun's light filtered through a canopy of leaves and created a vision of dappled light across his face. The young man, his name was Matthew, looked up and around, wondering in confusion as to why he was there.

A feeling in his hand made him look to his left. He blinked in surprise to see a girl lying beside him. A girl that he immediately recognized, and yet only served to confuse him even more.

She had blonde hair and a white dress with blue lines and bits of gold. There were two flowers in her hair as well. She was incredibly cute and pretty, but... This wasn’t his wife.

Matthew gently tried to remove his hand from hers, which he noticed was gripping him rather tightly. However, this ended up waking the girl up. She blinked her eyes open and blearily looked up at the trees. She stared much like he had.

As she stared, he froze, uncertain what to do here.

Where...? Why are there trees?

The words filled his mind from somewhere. They sounded feminine. Completely unlike his own. Where did they come from?

The girl blinked in apparent shock and looked around. She looked at him and froze.

Who? Wait, he looks like... Wait!

She looked down at her hand and noticed that they were connected there. She pulled her hand away as if she were burned and rolled away in a panic.

Who are you?!

“Who are you?!” She yelled.

Her voice was heard twice over. He heard her with his ears and with his head, and it was very strange to feel. He also remembered who she looked like, but it didn’t make sense. Why was she cosplaying Lumine from Genshin Impact?

Her face froze and she blinked. She moved a hand to her head in confusion, but then looked at her arm. There was an elegant white gauntlet and a black half glove-like thing. There was also a white sleeve that went up her arm and stopped under her armpit.

The girl looked down at her white dress and did a double take. Her eyes darted up and down her attire like she was surprised by how she was dressed.

Why am I dressed like a Genshin character? What the fuck is happening?

He heard her thoughts again. It was incredibly bizarre.

He carefully got up from the ground and brushed off his...

His clothes... Why... The black gloves, the white scarf, the black pants and boots with gold lines... the exposed belly?! Why was he dressed like Aether?

He touched his hair and felt the braided ponytail. He pulled it around to look at it and felt how real it was. It wasn’t some kind of wig.

Why can I hear his thoughts?

Matt looked up and saw the girl looking at him. She was touching the side of her head and frowning. Matt didn’t understand what was happening, but now she could hear his thoughts too?

Her eyes widened. They stared at each other for a while, too scared to say or think anything.

A moment of stalemate later, Matt decided that he needed to say something.

“Um, my name is Matthew.” He introduced himself. “Do you know where-?”

“Matt!” The girl interrupted. Her expression was one of recognition mixed with alarm and her previous confusion. The words were also heard in his head again. “Matthew Wright?!”

That brought him up short. How did she know his name?

“It’s Jen. Jennifer.” The girl exclaimed. Matt’s eyes widened in shock. “Your wife.”

“Jen?” He looked closer at her face but could only find some resemblance to his wife. The rest looked like Lumine. Even right down to the eye color. His Jen had blue eyes almost like his. Lumine’s are a golden yellow.

“But yours are green right now.” She interrupted his thoughts again.

Green?

She nodded.

His eyes were green instead of blue or Aether’s gold? That was odd... Plus, this whole mind reading thing was going to take some getting used to. It was currently throwing him off a little. And judging by the look on her fa-

Yeah, it is pretty weird.

She... also was feeling put off by it.

“Okay, wait, wait, wait.” Matt waved his hands back and forth to stop whatever was happening. “Pause. You’re Jennifer Wright, previously Jennifer Thompson. The woman I married in college?”

“Yeah, we met in high school and went to the same college.” She nodded.

Matt stepped closer to her and searched her face. The hair was different, the eyes were different. Her... breasts looked bigger?

Wait, they do?!

She grabbed onto her chest and tested that thought. She hefted them a little and squeezed them a couple times.

“They... do feel... bigger. That’s so weird.” She muttered.

“They look slightly bigger than both Lumine’s base model and yours.” Matt observed. “How did you grow like that?”

“I-I really don’t know.” She shook her head. “And you! Your belly had a little hair.”

She reached out and felt Matt’s exposed midriff.

“Now you're hairless here.”

Matt felt his own belly and found that she was right. There weren’t even shaven stubs. What was going on here? Why do they both look so different?

“Do you... remember having any dreams?” Jen asked. Her eyes were tracking back and forth while trying to remember something. “I have these images in my head and this voice... that said...”

“We left our world behind?” Matt finished for her.

“...yeah.”

“There was a woman. She took us somewhere?” Matt asked no one in particular. “Did... did we... die?”

Jen looked up at him and he realized that they were almost the same height now. She was only shorter than him by one inch, when previously it was three inches difference.

“I... don’t remember. I don’t remember anything from before that... dream?” She said, her confusion was still very apparent. “I do remember having a life with you. I remember family and friends. I... I just don’t remember... when that all stopped.”

“Maybe we... died in our sleep?” Matt threw that out there.

“...yeah. Maybe.”

This is so weird.

It was weird. Even this mind reading thing.

“Yeah, that, how can we do that now? It’s cool, but... what the fuck?” Jen asked. “Are we twins now? Are we twinning?”

“Is mind reading a twin thing though?” Matt asked back.

“I, uh... don’t twins have some weird communication thing?”

“Sure, but to this degree?”

“Okay, maybe not then... but Aether and Lumine were twins, right? So... What does that say about us being married and all that?” Jen asked with some discomfort.

That thought gave rise to a worrisome notion. If they were now brother and sister, then that might mean they couldn’t be... intimate, without being incestuous. That was... a little unfair. Matt couldn’t see himself not being with his wife. That just wasn’t in the cards. Even if it meant not having kids, he would still want to be with her.

Jen, in the body of Lumine looked at him with love and fondness and held his hand.

“I guess twincest is wincest.” Matt declared.

Jen laughed and looked into his eyes. They twinkled with knowing mirth at the memeble joke. Then her expression changed.

Wait...

“If your eyes are green...” She muttered. She studied his eyes and then reached up to his hair. She pulled the ponytail around his shoulder and lifted it next to one of her long side tails.

“Your hair is a darker blonde than mine.” She noted. “Darker hair and green eyes... Are we really twins?”

“Hmm... maybe whatever brought us here accounted for all that.” Matt gave it some thought. “Do you remember any of what was said in that dream?”

“...there was a woman, and she said some things...” Jen rubbed her chin. “I kind of remember her saying that she adored our love. There was something else though...”

“Something about many loves?”

“Yeah! But... how did she know that I liked bringing girls over? That’s a little... embarrassing.”

“Didn’t she also say that... your little kink would work well here?”

Jen let that sink in for a moment. Then her eyes widened as far as they could go.

“Are we going to fuck some Genshin bitches?!!” Jen exclaimed loudly. “Oh, ho, ho, fuck!”

She had to step away and whirl around in excitement. Her eyes darted to and fro as she thought about the different characters from the game. Matt even saw images of what she was thinking. The different character models and the imaginations of a perverted bisexual woman were also filtering into his head. The slew of horny thoughts made him a little dizzy.

“Wow, wow, slow down. I can see your thoughts too.” He told her.

“Oh, uh, ha ha... sorry.”

Jen tried to calm herself but couldn’t fight off the grin she was sporting. She came back over to him and grabbed his hands. She shook them excitedly.

“Are we going to fuck some Genshin waifu’s?” She asked him with that grin. “Are we going to collect them like a gacha game?”

“If we can, then yes. Absolutely.” He grinned back. “There’s just one question though.”

“What’s that?”

“Where exactly are we?”

The married couple looked out across the expansive plain. There were trees and hills and even those cliffs in the distance. Those cliffs that looked like they were the result of some sort of impact. Hence the whole Genshin ‘Impact’ thing.

Matt could see a winding road and some distant ponds and lakes. He couldn’t see, however, people. Or monsters. No hilichurls or slimes.

“Ah, that’s a concern.” His wife said as she sat down on a flat rock.

“The monsters?” He asked. The mind reading ability wasn’t perfect, it seemed. He couldn’t tell exactly what was on her mind right then. Just that the thought of monsters had her concerned.

“Yeah. If we are at the start of the story, then that means we don’t have elemental power yet.”

Ah, yeah that was a concern.

“And do we even have swords?” She asked a follow up.

Matt thought about that. Weapons in the game could disappear when you weren’t attacking something. Or they would float behind you before disappearing.

Exactly. Jen responded with her mind. She folded her arms beneath her breasts and lifted one leg over the other. So, do we have swords... or not?

Matt scratched his chin and looked off into the beautiful distance. The place looked like a realistic version of the game's art style. It was vibrant and colorful.

A moment later Matt just decided to throw out his hand and... will for a sword to appear.

It was a long shot...

Matt jumped as there was a flash of light and something appeared in his hand. He dropped it by accident and the sight of a sword, the Dull Blade, lay there in the grass and dirt. A moment later and it disappeared in another flash.

“Behind you!”

Matt tried to whirl around, just as an image bloomed in his mind. It was of himself standing there, with the sword floating behind him. He frowned in confusion and slowly looked over his shoulder and saw the hilt of the Dull Blade. He looked back to his wife.

“Did you just send me that image?”

“Uh, I... think so?”

He was able to see himself from her perspective sitting on the rock. That was an odd experience. This power was getting more and more strange. He shook his head and put that thought on the back burner for now.

He raised his hand and thought about the sword. It flashed back into his hand again.

“Wow.” He breathed. He looked at his wife in awe. “I have a sword.”

She looked stunned for a moment, but then she too raised her hand.

There was a flash and the same Dull Blade appeared in her hand. She almost dropped it herself and raised her other hand to catch it, but at the last moment remembered swords were sharp. She managed to hold the hilt with a stronger grip and stopped it from falling. She looked at the piece of metal and gently turned the blade over and rested the flat of the blade on her outstretched hand.

“Wow.”

“Yeah.”

They giggled like excited kids.

“I guess we do have a way to defend ourselves.” Jen said.

Matt nodded and took an experimental swing with his sword. He tried to remember the form that Aether took when using his weapon. He swung again and again. It felt... new, clumsy, and somewhat heavy... but strangely, he was feeling himself get into the flow of it.

“Why... do you look like a natural with that?” He heard Jen ask.

Matt stopped swinging and turned to her.

“I... don’t know. It felt clumsy at first, but after a few swings it feels like I’ve carried this before.”

Jen frowned cutely from Lumine’s face and got up from the rock she was sitting on. She stood a safe distance away and took a stance that she thought Lumine would take. She took a swing that looked amateurish. She took a couple more swings that were cleaner. She swung more times and the look of ease on her face told Matt that she had gotten the same feeling of familiarity. Her thoughts also said as much.

Why do I feel like I’ve done this before?

“Right? It’s weird, but I won’t complain if it means not being killed by monsters.”

Jen looked awestruck by this newfound talent. She hopped on the balls of her feet and swung her sword some more. The sight was both beautiful, and somewhat scary. He had never seen his wife fight before. She had never moved like that before. Honestly, it was a little arousing.

Jen slowed down and glanced back at him with a knowing grin.

Matt laughed at being caught and started swinging his own sword in practice. They did that for the next few minutes. They needed to be prepared for anything. Who knew when they would need to fight for their lives.
