Turning a New Leaf

Turning a New Leaf

An insecure housewife finds new ways to regain confidence

Chapter 1 by BathWater BathWater

Samantha felt past her prime.

Nearing 40 years old, Samantha didn’t really know who she was or who she wanted to be anymore. She had gotten married in her mid-20s to her lovely husband, Chris. She had her first child a few years later.

Those changes brought Samantha (or Sam) happiness, but she couldn’t help but feel something was missing. She just wasn’t herself anymore, mentally or physically. Her body, which used to attract all sorts of men, felt bigger, with traces of cellulite. Her breasts no longer felt perky, and her pant size had increased to account for her weight gain.

Maybe her husband felt the same way, as their love life was nearly extinct. Chris hardly ever initiated intimacy anymore. When he did, foreplay was a rare occurrence. Sam felt used, not wanted or desired. She craved passion and satisfaction she hadn’t felt for years, but was wary to rock the boat and jeopardize her family.

That’s where our story begins. Where will she turn? Who will she confide in? Will she reclaim herself or become someone (or something) more hedonistic?

Where does our story begin for Sam?
