Introduction:
The year is 2245 and humanity has spread amongst the stars. Technology has advanced far enough that for primitives it would be indistinguishable from magic.
Nearly anything you can think of can be 3D printed so long as it follows the laws of physics, artificial intelligence has become so advanced that they live among humans, computers and automated programs have made any work that doesn’t require a human mind obsolete. Some people still choose to work but its rarely out of necessity. Even if you would be required to work 10, 20, 80 or even a hundred years it would mean little as the average lifespan can go into the millenia, and thats without even mentioning artificial bodies or uploading your mind to a digital world. And a forever older population hasn’t becomean issue either because you essentially keep the body of a 25-35 year old. And those who have lived for a long enough time and feel as if they have done everything in this world will simply move on to the digital one where their mind can experience countless new things. Digital storage has also been nearly perfected and a planet full of people’s minds can comfortably rest in your hand.
Whilst humanity spread amongst the stars colonising and terraforming any planet they came across they eventually made contact with alien life. However they were very far away and neither side has cracked faster than light travel so communication is slow and only used by the goverment and few public locations.
All this perfection however has left you rather.... bored. You were born in a space vessel the size of a small moon orbeting around mars, got a good education in your development years and spend your life in luxery, not without your fair share of hardships do. They are a critical part of any persons development and experiencing hardships early saved you a lot of trouble in your long lifetime.
You have an interest in all of the sciences and spent many lifetimes helping humanity develop. You are an expert at a wide variety of subject ranging from engineering to biology and even some painting. But no matter how strong a passion after thousands of years you wish to persue a different path, and with a lot of time and resources on your hand you do what any bored person does.
