The Unrivaled Brawler

The Unrivaled Brawler

A story of a monk bored with his life

Chapter 1 by TwentyTwan TwentyTwan

It was a cold spring day, however it would prove to be quite an eventful day. For Tsuin had had enough, it was time to leave this godforsaken monastery. His entire life had been spent on training martial arts, reading some awful story about why lust is a sin, and not to forget fasting like half of the time. While the martial arts had been quite the enjoyment for Tsuin, the rest did not make up for that. Tsuin had always been a gifted student, one who would squeeze water from the stone that people call repetition. However, tomorrow Tsuin would turn 18, and he would be **** to become a full-fledged monk. Something Tsuin did not want, fed up with his life, he had decided to plan an escape. To run away from the monastery with only a handful of supplies, a set of fresh clothing and the little life savings he had gathered in his eighteen years of life. This wasn’t much as Tsuin wasn’t exactly a frugal person, he would spend some of his coin on better food but mainly on hunting equipment. Luckily the monastery had a forest behind it, teeming with wild-life. After having learned of that fact, Tsuin would spend hours in the forest, learning the habits of the wild-life, only to abruptly end their cycle of life. Usually done via a pin-point shot to the neck in case of deer. However the occasional boar proves to be a challenge, this mighty animal cannot be killed with just a single shot, so usually the arrows are used to sap away it’s energy before going in for the kill.

This forest, teeming with wildlife will also prove to be quintessential to Tsuin’s escape plan, having stashed away dried meats, nuts and berries deep within to be used as a supply depot. Having built a hammock to spend the night in a place where Tsuin can rest. All had been prepared, Tsuin asked his buddy Ira to provide a distraction the day before his escape would happen. It all came down to chance, as the distraction was set in motion Tsuin made his way to the walls of the monastery, with fleet footwork and dexterity that went far above what the common man was capable of, and then he heard a sound, the sound of his master Roshi. This startled Tsuin for a split second, however relief washed over him when it turned out it was just a scolding Ira was receiving. He was almost there, just a few more steps and his eternal freedom would be a reality.

Will Tsuin Escape?
