The Hazing of Starlet

I look at myself in the mirror. Staring back at me is a five-foot-ten beautiful woman with flowing black hair and a beautiful adult body. Since I had to make my costume myself, I've learned my measurements are 36D - 22 - 38. I've got a bit of a complex about my butt, so I have a nice long cape to cover it up. I don't use a mask, since I look slightly older than my real age and my blue eyes sparkle - literally. My whole body does, really, under the skin-tight white latex outfit. I painted on some 'starbursts' because of the whole "Starlet" thing. Anyway, yeah, my body sparkles with teeny little pinpoint lights. The more I use my powers, the more sparkles I get.

My best power has to be my resistance to damage. Things still hurt, mind you, but they don't seem to really INJURE me ... like, I got hit by a car once (don't ask) and it kind of tore up my suit and REALLY hurt, but there were no broken bones, just some bruising. And of course, a cascade of my little 'starbursts.' Other than that though, I'm strong enough to probably lift that car over my head, I can fly about 100 miles per hour or so, and I can shoot blasts from my hands. I had to cut the gloves off the catsuit so that I didn't burn it up (like I sorta did the first time.)

Anyway, my real name is Jane Doe, and in reality, I'm not really as old as I look. I'm a mutant, as my powers developed suddenly and overnight. Sadly, I think my powers stole all my physical development, because I'm just a smidge over 5'2", with barely A-cup breasts. I'm kind of skinny and gawky, and I'm totally blind without my glasses. I do fairly well in school - I've actually skipped so I'm in my senior year there. Luckily, I think I'm so geeky that I just fly under everyone's radar in my normal form. No one even picks on me ... My mother says I'm a late bloomer but ... eighteen and still like this, really? People think I'm younger when I'm 'normal.'

But I've been doing good work locally as a superhero, doing my part in the yearly-it-seems alien invasions, time reshufflings, and so forth. I think I'm ready for the big leagues. The big leagues being the JUSTICE LEAGUE, the AVENGERS, and the X-MEN.
