the AVENGERS

They're on Earth and I know where to find 'em! It's going to be a long flight from here to New York, but I might as well get started ...

Turns out it's a longer flight than I thought. I start at 3 PM and head in the direction I thought New York was, but ... it turns out that I also have a bad sense of direction, and end up flying most of the night. When I finally arrive in New York, it's early morning. Figuring I might impress them by showing up early, I grab a cup of coffee to try and wake myself up, then fly right on over to the famous Avengers' Mansion!

The morning passers-by and Avengers fans are already on the street as I fly overhead. I move to land in their yard, and suddenly, I find myself in a war zone! Blasters hidden in the trees start shooting, and mechanical tentacles pop out of concealed pits to grab at me!

"I'm not a supervillain, you dumb security, I want to apply!!" I scream out as I zap a few of the grasping tentacles. I start to fly back up, and a blaster shot catches me in the side. I fall back to the ground in a cascade of starbursts, momentarily disoriented. "Ugh ... I just want to apply," I moan.
