Introduction 1: The Contestant Intro

Greetings, lucky winner of the regulated lottery of subscribed viewers. You are being contacted because you were selected via our heavily regulated lottery of contestants. In case you have forgotten the terms and conditions of the lottery, allow me, your personal contact and guide employed by Omni-Central Studios, to remind you.

Beginning at January 12th, 2348, Omni-Central went live with an announcement for an ambitious new project in world wide entertainment. Within two years' time, in 2350, there will be a new show for all to watch and enjoy on special Unity Technologies Initiative brand Augmented Reality Immersive Gear (TM). This project was dubbed "The Expanding Universe" (TM). And they allowed people who were interested to participate in a special lottery.

The lottery helped feed into the premise of the ambition of the project. To simply put, Omni-Central had created a viewing program that is one hundred percent viewer contributed. Omni-Central provide key mechanics, "lore", and other such information to create the fantasy galaxy with which the program residdes in. This is the first of its kind and surely, no matter if success or failure occurs, will shake the entertainment industry forever.

The lottery had asked for a great many questions of our viewers personal lives as well as a questionnaire. This helped the algorithm to find prime candidates to contribute to the making of the galaxy that all will be watching. We had asked for your history in the creative arts, time within sci-fi themed fandoms, if you had any degrees in biology, engineering, politics, philosophy, sociology, and so forth, as well as questionnaires to test both your intelligence and creativity. And after going through all the filters and then activating the lottery, you are the lucky winner. Congratulations, you! Now to explain what it is you are here for.

With the use of the Augmented Reality Immersive Gear (TM), one can immersive themselves into the virtual galaxy. Now, much of the budget for the program went into working on the viewer contribution capabilities, as well as the processing power and the portability to the Immersive Gear. One will not be able to put themselves into the program nor take control of any of the denizens of the galaxy in The Expanding Universe (TM).

Instead, they will have the ability to select any of the denizens and gaze upon their everyday life. They will also have the ability to switch from one character, to another at ease thanks to the viewer friendly interface in the form of category-based lists of characters, as well as a comprehensive, in-program lexicon of established information that is updated in real time to viewer contributions. If you, or another contestant, were to write in your alien race...then viewers can look up the information as it comes up, as well as see any changes or updates. This is an effort to ensure that even the most casual of viewers do not get lost in the life of the galaxy.
