Strange Salvation

(Re)Starting Life as a Weird Mage

Chapter 1 by TwilitDesires TwilitDesires

Alright, I'm disappointed that I have to do this, but pre-story forward: this is an LGBTQIA+ friendly space. If you're a bigot, get out. If you can't handle even minor explorations of sexual preferences and tastes, get out. Everyone can thank commenter Lethang for bringing it to my attention that some people are unable to handle simple facts about human sex, gender, and sexuality - and my story isn't even queer-focused. So... yeah. Bigotry isn't okay, and this is the one and only warning I'm giving at this point. If I see anyone posting hate comments, they will be reported with no warning. If this story isn't to your taste, cool; leaver, rather than throw a tantrum.

was about what he expected.

Cold, a feeling of distance, of being detached from what was happening.

A light in the center of his vision - perhaps a preview of an afterlife, or just the narrowing of vision as his body began to shut down.

...

...nobody had mentioned the odd... forgetfulness, though.

He couldn't quite remember what had killed him. Or... what was killing him.

"Oh? It would appear I have a new soul before me. Fear not, little one." The voice was androgynous, but he was almost certain it was a woman's. There was a strange sense that she was putting on airs of being professional. "I know just why you have come, for I have this great and mighty power known as 'your paperwork.' Now let me examine your fate... oh dear. It would seem you cling now to the brink of... wait, what? You're not supposed to come here before you die! That's weird. You're weird. Well, whatever, let's get this show on the road, I guess."

Get what show on the road?
