Regretful Vacation: 2

The day may have been a long one, but it was over! John car turns into the driveway as the final words to his favourite Taylor swift song are muttered on the radio. The timing almost made up for the traffic on the journey back after work.
John gets out the car and grabs his brief case, walks up to the door, opens it, walks down the corridor and lays his eyes on his beautiful girlfriend.

How did he get so lucky! Anyone would think she’s the perfect girlfriend, in the door and she ready, greeting him with fresh-made pasta.

J: hey honey, how are you!

R: great, I’ve made your favourite, just 10 mins left, why don’t you go upstairs and change out of that suit, it will be ready when you back down!

J: Sure thing

John dumped his briefcase and ran upstairs. Rachael’s family spaghetti was to die for, no way was he going to let a spare second go by with out tasting that bad boy! As he’s getting ready he sees a Facebook notification. Like fuck was he gonna check that, it’s spaghetti time!

John runs down the stairs, to find the food on the table and Rachael smiling sweetly at the other end. As the couple eat they make light conversation until Rachael abruptly interjects!

R: Hey so I actually invited Amber and Zach to do Christmas with us this year.

J: (Immediately worried) WHY!?

R: Well all their family is away this year and I thought it might be nice.

J: But my family is going to be here!

R: Yh that’s ok Zack and Amber live near, they can sleep at theirs and just come round for the important parts, like the celebrations and stuff you know.

J: that’s not what I meant! Just my family can’t know, I’d hate to think what they would think of us if they found out….

R: Well they won’t. If it really makes u feel better baby, I promise, nothing will happen. I know how I get but I can go 5 days I swear. It would be rude to uninvited them now! I was asking to be nice but now I’m telling you. Zach and Amber are doing Christmas with us! Got it?

J: fine, but I swear to god nothing can happen

R: I swear, now enjoy the dinner I made

The rest of the meal was eaten in silence. Once they were down John cleared the plates and begun washing them up.
