Prompt through the Multiverse

Prompt through the Multiverse

AI art taken to the next level

Chapter 1 by tyranus tyranus

The format for this story/game works as follows. Keeping in mind that the general gist of the situation is that by changing the prompt, the main character is essentially transported to a new universe where the new prompt holds true. If a woman goes from an old hag across the street to a young woman by changing the (old) portion of the prompt to (young), expect other changes to reality to occur to compensate for who this person is. Perhaps its a new woman entirely, who happens to still live across the street, or the old woman had a mysterious science experiment go horribly right. That's up to you to decide.

A. An initial scenario happens describing who our main character is, what their relation is to the other individual, and then the main character is presented the prompt which describes the individual in front of them.

B. Every reader is allowed to make a single change to a timeline (For the purposes of this game, it is anything comma separated in the prompt that embodies a single concept). This can be in the form of adding or removing, or modifying an existing portion into a similar idea.

  1. From the above example -> If you recommended the before change from (old)->(young), anything that occurs after that point in that timeline you can no longer change. You can, however, exit the timeline.
  2. Example 2: Reader A recommends the (old)->(young) change, and can make no further changes in that timeline. However, Player B recommends (small breasts)->(large breasts). Both Player A and Player B can recommend a change in each other's branch of their timelines still. (As more players play, the branching can get deeper and deeper and wider and wider at the same time).
  3. Simply Put: If you click previous chapter all the way to the top, then you can only have one change through the current pathway. You can still make changes in parallel pathways within the same story.

C. At any point, anyone can "exit" the prompt, even if they made a change previously within a timeline. At this point, that individual writes a finalization of the scenario, describing our main character's confusion, and eventual acceptance and understanding of the changes that occurred as a result of their changes, along with any benefits it might have. Maybe there is no confusion, and they magically understand. As long as the scenario is actualized, that's enough. This doesn't, however, stop anyone from continuing changes in that line or even writing another exit in that chapter. It is simply one of many possible timelines.

  1. From the previous example -> Player A decides to exit Player B's timeline after they add another change to it, changing (ugly)->(beautiful). They then write a short story about the old beautiful woman with large breasts interacting with the main character in some way which is different than they may have interacted before, due to the changes that occurred.

Anyone is welcome to start their own threads, and participate in any games. There is a singular rule I'd ask people to try to obey however. AI art should be used, and the prompt directly is presented to the readers, so that they may modify it (certain portions of the prompt can be kept hidden should the author so choose). The only exception for needing to include art is for the "EXIT" stories. At this point, the individual doesn't change any more. (You can include art, but it isn't necessary for these). Participants can simply leave comments, and anyone writing can use that as they see fit to generate new art.

Addendum: If an exit occurs, and after the exit, a new individual is modified afterwards, this is to be considered a "new" timeline, and everyone is welcome to write on it again. Preferably, a link to this new timeline is made to the first level of the story for ease of access for readers, and some indicator that it is a part of a different "storyline" (Update: This is to be applied when a "new character" begins getting modified.)

Who are you, and in what situation does the prompt appear?
