"Your past will always dictate your future."

Turning back and forth, Kaitlyn jolted out of her sleep. Adjusting her vision and rubbing her eyes, she glanced beside her and saw her husband Thomas laying beside her. A reminder of what happened over the last couple of weeks; Kaitlyn and Thomas that just recently gotten married, and had recently returned from their joint honeymoon/wedding vacation. The Newlyweds we're not a couple for very long before deciding to tie the knot, falling quickly in love and enjoying every second of each other's company before taking the quick plunge after only half a year. Thomas was a gigantic fan of Aerospace technology, and introduced Kaitlyn to the wonders of his career over the time they dated, something he considered very special.

Kaitlyn was equally as crazy about Thomas, quickly telling him all of her dreams and hopes for the next following years. One thing they had never seemed to talk about, or at least spend significant time on, was talking about their past. Thomas was always open with the fact that he had been in many failed relationships due to his own commitment problems. Kaitlyn, on the other hand, never seemed too interested in talking about her past. What Kaitlyn had told Thomas, was that she had tattered past filled with many jaded men and hurtful people but she would quickly like to forget.

Thomas never pushed the issue. He was extremely laid-back, more interested in academics and was never one for confrontation. It was one of the things that attracted Kaitlyn to him, a nice change from the men that she was so accustomed to in her own life. She was happy to be with someone who respected her.

It was January now, and things were starting to settle in to a groove. They had started becoming a married couple rather instantly, taking little time to have to adjust to having both in each other's lives. They hadn't been home for long but we're both excited about what was to come. That is, until Kaitlyn noticed her phone was lit up. Instantly, a sinking feeling overtook her stomach. A familiar one.

Does she open the phone?
