It's Just Common Sense (Public)

[Author's note: I know this is similar to the Normality series. However, I wanted it to be more of a branch of hypnosis, like a superpower, and less of the protagonist having to rely on an item to wield that power. This is a space to make stories with this specific type of scenario. With that out of the way, let's begin.]

The power of Common Sense Alteration... A powerful ability similar to hypnosis but not quite the same. Hypnosis gives you the power to order others against their will, alter their memories, change their personalities, and make people mindless slaves... Common sense alteration only changes how people perceive reality and how reality affects them on a subconscious level.

When someone becomes the user of this power, the user can make these things:

1. Make other people completely believe whatever he/she says is true.
2. Making it so (at first impression) that nobody perceives him/her as any kind of danger or threat.
3. Nobody questions the user's actions
4. Nobody questions how the user looks.
5. Nobody minds his/her presence.
6. Everyone accepts whatever the user does as normal.

The main permanent effect is that if anyone sees the user (in person or in images) or hears the user's voice then the common sense alteration will take place. Everyone around the user will perceive his/her actions with indifference, like not worth worrying about. Even if someone is stronger or more powerful than the user, he/she can just use the power to have a massive advantage in combat or to evade trouble altogether. However, there are some risks to take into account when the user directly interacts with a person while the power is active.

First, if someone hears about the user from another person, and doesn't see or hear the user himself/herself in person; then that person won't be affected by the common sense alteration until that person sees or hears the user.

Second, the effectiveness of the common sense alteration itself depends on the will and the experience of the user. If the user has a weak will and is inexperienced, a person with a stronger volition will be a harder target to affect directly with the common sense alteration. However, if the user develops a stronger will (by becoming more confident, smarter, etc...) and practices the usage of common sense alteration on people, the power itself will become more effective and more subtle.

Third, the common sense alteration also depends on the person and what the user wants the other person to believe. The user can try to convince another person to do something weird since they will perceive whatever the user says as normal; but if the user contradicts a lot his/her statements, and also if the user's power isn't strong enough, it can risk the other person snapping momentarily out of the effects of his common sense alteration. However, if the power is strong enough, the user can easily convince people to do more absurd, humiliating, and unhinged actions.

Fourth (and last one I swear), since the power of common sense alteration only affects how living beings subconsciously perceive the user and his/her actions, it doesn't affect how other people perceive each other unless their actions are a result of the user's actions (For example: The user placing his/her foot on the way to make another person stumble and fall; since the user did that, nobody would care about the person falling). That means that the user can still get hurt from things like collateral damage, natural disasters, beings with no brains, or an accident if he/she isn't careful.

Now with all the technicalities out of the way, I wonder who will be the new user of this power... Maybe a man, maybe a woman, maybe someone or something else, or maybe more than just 1 person. It could be in a fantasy world, a Sci-Fi world, or the real world. And how will the user obtain his/her powers? Maybe from a god, maybe from a government experiment, maybe a mutation, or maybe a spell... Either way, there's only one way to find out!
