Faeophobia

It's the 21st Century, and you're about to begin life as a University student. You guess you're too young to remember what life used to like before the world forever changed, but, all been told, it was a bad place to live. War, terror and everything else was rife; listening to it in History lessons made you wonder why anyone would have wanted to live back then in the first place.

But that was before the Celestial Conjunction; an event that hadn't happened in a thousand years. When the stars came into alignment, everything changed. Humanity rediscovered the ancient art of magic, and began shaping the world for the better. Magic was able to do everything we ever wanted, and essentially ignored the laws of science. Within years, countless diseases has been eradicated, people in any country could live comfortably, and countless younger humans flocked to universities worldwide to learn the ways of magic, or Thaumaturgy.

The other significant occurrence during the Celestial Conjunction was the return of the Land of Faeries; separated from Earth for a Millennium, the magical men and women of the Fae returned, people and creatures straight out of myths and legends; pixies, elves, mermaids, satyrs, and many others.

Not growing up in one of the major cities, You've never really seen a Fae, but, like everyone else in your hick town, you've seen the pictures, and they were gorgeous. The women always pictured with immaculate skin, perfect bodies and enormous breasts, the men always muscular and handsome, with noticeable bulges in their jeans or shorts.

But the Fae were in need of the help of humans. In the time that they were cut off from Earth, the number of male Fae being born dropped drastically; only one in twenty was born male! As a species, the Fae were perilously close to extinction, and required human men to breed with, in order to keep their hopes alive. This caused a fair few problems within the cities; human women were jealous of the Fae, who used their killer looks to steal their men, and then used them to impregnate themselves with ridiculous amounts of babies.

It was getting to the point where human women were either using magic to enhance themselves, or to snare their men back, some places reported packs of disgruntled women who roved in gangs, attacking any Fae they could find! While you're sure it can't be that bad; you prefer to think it is just the media exaggerating, as always.

But this is the world you're stepping into, as you begin your life as a Freshman at Madison University; one of the foremost universities in the world for Fae students and staff. It started like a normal life in university; being dropped off at student halls, having the family unpack your possessions from the station wagon, trying to avoid mom kissing and sobbing on your favourite T-shirt in the middle of the parking lot. After a few wrong turns and a lot of stairs, you finally got yourself to your room, and wrestled your suitcases onto the bed by the window.

By now, you feel like your head has sweated out a small ocean, and you step over to the mirror on the wall as your wipe your forehead with a tissue ...
