Author's Note: Hi! Welcome and enjoy! As with all of my stories, feel free to add to this in any way you'd like!

I was traveling on business, selling industrial chemicals and business was bad. So bad, in fact, that I was taking a serious look at having to sleep in my car if I wanted to keep eating. Somehow, I found myself to this little greasy spoon diner way out in the middle of fucking nowhere. I was to Hell and gone from any town with more than 1000 people in it, and this little oasis appeared in the desert. The car and I both needed fuel, so I stopped, gassed up and went into the restaurant half of the little desert market.

I hadn't even paid attention to anyone in here, the damn heat was so oppressive. At least the AC worked in the car, but in here it was busted or they just didn't have it. The only thing keeping the hot air from crushing me was a few ceiling fans that were groaning quietly with the effort of spinning.

The tables were small, but clean. The menus had about 10 options for food on them and all of it was fried or slathered in gravy. Or both. I didn't even notice the waitress was standing at the table until she cleared her throat.

"What'll it be, sugar?" she asked. She was a vision of beauty, a goddess, to my travel weary eyes. She had long, jet black hair that was tied up in a bun. Several strands of it had escaped and had been tucked behind her delicate ears. Her cheekbones were high and gorgeous, her lips were perfectly fully and designed for just one thing. Her neck was long and swanlike, sheening with sweat slightly in the low light of the diner. Her stripped dress blouse had 4 buttons undone; not enough to be indecent, but enough to get you to look twice at her ample chest trying to burst the bra restraining it.

"I'll have a cheeseburger," I said. "Coke to drink."

She didn't even bother to write it down and she swayed back to the counter to shout an order back to the cook. Another female voice answered her back and she turned and nodded to me.

"It'll be about 10 minutes, sweetheart," she said.

Passing the time...
