__ You're Brett a 30 something male looking for true happiness. You used to be married once, but you fucked that up when you fucked her sister. Your rebound girl Wendy has been your girlfriend for 7 years. The relationship has got serious of late, you both share a house and joint responsibilities. Your not sure about marriage anymore or Wendy, in fact she was pressuring you into marriage these last few months and your are happy with the friends idea. However you don't want to upset her or crush her dreams of children.

You work as a Lighting Operator at the local theatre. Occasionally you dabble with sound effects but you were best known as the expert in "when"and "how" with light on stage.

You were doing the usual locking up for the night when you stubbled across a stage prompt that caught your eye. It was nestled in the curtain at the top of the stage. Your sure that it wasn't there before, you climb the stage ladder and retrieve what appeared to be a glowing red stone..

You feel entranced by the glowing object and place it in your pocket, you felt compelled to take this precious object home. You do your usual final checks before leaving, when suddenly you feel the stone heating up in your pocket. So hot in fact that you have to remove it, your fingers burn as you hastily pinch the stone quickly and extract it from your burning leg. You place the stone on the box office counter and glare at it hypnoyically.

"Thank you Brett, I have been locked away for a very long time."

You jump at the sudden voice that came from behind you, you turn to find a rather sinister man in black grinning at you.

How on earth did he get in here? "Sir you need to leave, we closed an hour ago" you say in a nervous twang. "Brett...How do I repay the favour!" Replied the sinister man. Favour...What favour? Your mind is confused. How does he know your name? Perhaps he's had a drink or on , you usher him towards the door telling him you want to lock up and get to the bank before it closes. "How much do you require Brett?" Your starting to get angry about entertaining this guy in conversation and politely ask him to leave all you will have to call the cops.

"Check your wallet Brett, is that enough?" You feel warmth in your pocket. The man watches you look down at your pocket in bewilderment. "Go on Brett check it." You hesitantly grab your wallet which appeared bursting with cash and you are completely stunned, inside must have been $5,000 or more!. "Whaww, how?" You remark. "Brett, take that as a free gift for setting me free." You are in total shock! Did this magical "Genie" appear from the red rock?

"Now normally Brett, I would offer a wish for your soul. But I'm not inclined to do such a thing, instead I will offer you what you want. What's the population of this destinstion?"

"Err 2.5 million I think?" You anwser. "Perfect!" Grins the man. "Brett I know the money you seek is for an installment on an engagement ring, yes?"

"Yes" you reply, your still stunned about the money, the wizardry around your wallet growing and the fact he knows your name! "I sense you have doubt Brett, I can help you with that" Amazed by the magic already demonstrated earlier, you felt keen to know how.
