Building my life

Dave: Are you sure about this? You can still change your mind and finish college here, everything is set up for, you will start in a entry level position for 6 months, then move to management fo another 6 months, and so on learning how the business work at several levels until you take over my assistant position and finally over the company.

John: I'm sure dad, remember, my grandad was a drifter for years before settling down and starting the business and all that experience paid out, look at the company now!

Of course I was just using my late grandad as an excuse, while it was true that over those ears he learnt a lot that he finally applied to start his own business , my objective was to live on my own, without having my life laid out for me.

Lena: But, who will cook, clean, take care of you when you are sick?

My sweet mom, if she was the one that had decided over what I was to do with my life I would have been homeschooled, left the house only when absolutely necessary and live the rest of my days getting to my every wish chartered to.

Dave: If you are so sure, remember our agreement, you are to finish your college while there, won't receive any financial assistance from me, nor use the family name to get what you want. If you can't survive on your own and need our help you will have to come back home... However you are still my son, so I made an account for you, you will find $20,000 in it to use at your discretion, but that's it, if you use it all there will not be any more money from me until you return.

John: I understand dad, and I appreciate it. Now, I need to book my flight and confirm the deposit for my new apartment.
