Batarian Raid

Commander Shepard stood before her bridge map, head resting on her hands. Discontent could be felt throughout the ship. Commander Jane Shepard had become the first Human Spectre as she chased down Saren; all throughout her journey trying to convince the council of the Reapers. She had even sacrificed a third of the Alliance Fleet to save the Council during the Geth siege on the Citadel. Shepard had walked on eggshells to avoid problematic situations, though in a few situations she had to be renegade.

Now Commander Shepard was sent to clean up the geth resistance along with the occasional Alliance request. With every mission she was sent on the more it felt like the council, and even the Alliance to some extent, was sweeping her warning under the rug. Still Commander was a Soldier first; her loyalties lie in the Alliance and the Council. She did not question her loyalties; her mission she questioned, yet she carried on with the mission she was given.

Aboard the Normandy SR-1, a message from the Alliance was picked up, Admiral Hackett appeared before Commander Shepard. “Shepard we just received a distress call from the SSV Xinkou, the Xinkou is an experimental ship containing an advanced EMP weapon.”

Shepard cimed in “Any clues on who participated in an on the Xinkou?”

“A pirates ambush is most likely the reason for the distress; though the Xinkou was posted in Batarian space.” “That is what brings us the most concern. Should the Batarians gain their hands on this tech; it would spell disaster for the Alliance.” “We ask you to retrieve the Xinkou and her crew alive; or should the worst happen, scuttle the ship.”

“I’ll get it done!” Shepard replied.

“Hackett out.”

The Normandy transverse space, heading towards the Xinkou last known location. As the Normandy arrives in the Batarian’s space, heading towards the Xinkou. The Xinkou flanked by two Batarian Frigates; Xinkou floating helplessly in the void of space.

“Shepard, two emeny frigates tailing the Xinkou. Stealth core up; what are orders?” Joker reported.

“Those ships will scuttle the ship along with us should it go bad for the Batarians, we need to get rid of those ships, before we board.” Shepard paused a bit, “Joker you perform a strafing run on those ships; get their attention while I and few of the crew board the Xinkou.”

“Alright Commander, see you down there.”

The Normandy positions itself for a strafing run, turning off its stealth core, she whirls towards the two enemy ships, catching the ships off guard. The Normandy bombards the two frigates, the first frigate's shield was shredded, the second got peppered. The Normandy retreated as Shepard and two of his crew took a shuttle. The enemy frigates followed suite; Shepard and his small crew boarded undetected.

Commander Shepard, Liara T’soni, and Tali exited the shuttle, only to be confronted by a batarian welcoming crew. The two groups readied themselves for a fight as a single batarian walked up to Commander Shepard.

“ Shit, not you.” The batarian spat.

“Are you in charge of this raid?”

“No, that would be Kragar Bras'geth. I Crarlak will stop you.”

She hear hesitance in his voice.
