Babysitter horror

The adventures of an unsuspecting babysitter.

Chapter 1 by Jeriah Jeriah

You climb off the bus after about forty minutes from leaving your hometown, the driver ensuring you that this is the adress you wanted to go to. Finding yourself in the middle of nowhere, surrounded on all sides by the deep forest, you watch with sinking heart as the bus speed off into the distance.

As you look up and down the lowly trafficed old road (if used at all, except for that usually empty old bus), you catch sight of an overgrown path leading into the forest at the other side. Crossing the road and cautiously heading down the path, you find that it's actually an even older little road that could actually be just barely passable by car.

Following the overgrown tracks deeper into the forest you eventually find yourself, much to your surprise, at the large iron gates of an old estate. Through the open gates you can see a large mansion, surrounded by an unkept garden and in many places overgrown with heavy vines. You're astounded that someone would be living at a place like this, but lighted candles seen in a few of the windows indicates that some actually does.

Cautiously continuing up the graveled frontyard you keep wondering what sort of people, living in a run down place like this, could ever need a babysitter. A gardener and a host of other servants would seem a more appropriate priority, allthough the people living here must most likely have only just enough money left to keep the old estate in the familly.

Your boss back at the agency told you that your clients were both wealthy and well respected, but from what you've seen so far you'd rather guess that may have been the case for this familly several generations ago. Nevertheless you really need this job, and can only hope they'll be able to pay your provision and that this old mansion has at least running water and working electricity.

As you approach the house and start walking up the long, wide stair to the double front doors, there sky seem to darken while a sudden gust of cold wind sweeps across your face. Looking up, you find heavy black rain-clouds spreading slowly over the otherwise clear, blue sky.

This certainly doesn't help up your mood, and you hurry your steps while encouraging yourself with the thought that at least you'll only have to stay at this place for the evening and part of tomorrow. Taking a moment to check yourself and straighten your clothes, you stand before the massive doors and reach for the ornamented and rusted heavy knocker...

Now for an introduction:

Who are you, the babysitter?
