Chapter 39 by 280tcove 280tcove

What do you three discuss while eating?

Bianca learns the news (and so do you).

Bianca, Violet, and I are all gathered around a table eating together. We all talk and crack jokes, just like usual, which brings me back to the days before I got the Random Remote. Aside from Violet occasionally putting her hand on my leg, it really does remind me of a simpler time, as strange as that is to say. I won't say those days were better, but there's something about the normalcy of events like this that give me this weird feeling of nostalgia. However, I'm also acutely aware that sitting next to me at this table is Violet, which means there's a high likelihood that things will take an unexpected turn at some point. And as if on cue...

"So, Bianca... We have something we want to tell you..." Violet suddenly says out of nowhere.

We do? I have no idea what we could possibly want to tell Bianca. I definitely don't trust her enough to tell her about the remote, and I would think Violet knows better than to bring that up. I hope she's not about to admit to doing something sexual. I don't know much about what Bianca and Violet talk about when I'm not around, but having a conversation like that out in public certainly would raise some suspicions.

"Oh? And what exactly is that?" Bianca ask, just as curious as I am now.

"Matt and I are dating! We went on our first official date over the weekend! I wanted to tell you so bad then, but I thought it would be better if we could tell you together!" Violet says cheerfully.

Wait, what? We're dating? I didn't know that. Was I supposed to know that? Sure, we did a lot of pretty intimate stuff on Saturday, but it definitely didn't scream "official date" to me. If I had known that was a date, I would have approached the whole day differently. I mean, I've been into Violet since we first met. It's been my dream to go out with her, and now, I apparently already have without realizing it. Needless to say, I'm a bit stunned by this confession. But what makes me confused more than anything is how... not confused Bianca is. Once she hears Violet, she simply rolls her eyes.

"Ugh, finally. It took you two long enough."

Okay, I thought this situation couldn't baffle me anymore, but clearly I was wrong. Bianca doesn't find this news even slightly surprising? Am I the only one who didn't see this coming?

"Wait, what do you mean, Bianca? I thought you would be more confused about this," I say.

"Of course I'm not. Violet talks about you basically all the time. It's been driving me insane," Bianca responds before casually taking a bite of the sandwich she got for lunch.

"Come on, it can't be that bad. I mean, how much could she have possibly talked about me in just one week?" Man, did this pervert thing really mess Violet up that badly? Maybe her changes weren't as gradual as I thought.

"A week? What the hell are you talking about? She's been doing this since you guys first met freshman year," Bianca clarifies. "And don't get me started on the whole 'V' thing. You do know she absolutely hates it when anyone else calls her that, right? You're the only one she lets call her that nickname."

I go silent as that information hits me like a tsunami. So does this not have anything to do with the remote? Has Violet... had a crush on me this whole time? No, that can't be right. There's no way. I look over at Violet to see something I don't often see: her face is bright red with embarrassment and she's shyly fidgeting with her hair. When she finally looks up at me, there's a vulnerability that I'm not used to seeing with her.

"Is that true, Violet?" I ask after a moment of silence.

"That's not fair, Bianca! You weren't supposed to say that!" Violet clearly didn't want to answer my question directly, but that response was all I needed to hear to get my answer.

Out of nowhere, Violet wraps both her arms around one of mine and leans against my shoulder. With her pressed up against me like that, I can really feel her warmth.

"I was too nervous to say anything. I didn't want to ruin our friendship. Only in this past week have I managed to find enough... let's call it confidence to do this," Violet mumbles quietly to me.

So that's how the remote plays into all this. With her growing perversions, Violet also started getting bolder, which led to... this, I guess. Even with all the time we've spent hanging out, I never would have known...

It's clear that this whole thing didn't exactly go how Violet planned. Still, I got some useful information out of this. Apparently I have a girlfriend now. Wild. Anyway, Bianca congratulates us, but afterwards she moves on to the next topic as if nothing happened. It takes the rest of lunch, but Violet does manage to regain her composure just as we finish eating. We're about to head our separate ways when Bianca decides to quickly run to the restroom, leaving Violet and I alone for a brief moment.

"You know we're going to have to talk about this at some point right? You can't just blurt that out and expect that to be the end of it," I tell her.

"I know. I'm sorry. I thought it would be fun, but it kind of blew up in my face," Violet chuckles.

"Don't worry about it. Besides, the whole experience was very enlightening for me."

The two of us laugh before sharing a short, sweet kiss. I could definitely get used to this. Partway through our kiss, Violet suddenly opens her eyes and pulls away quickly.

"Oh! I just remembered!" She says in a moment of clarity.

"Just remembered what?"

"That thing I was going to ask you! You know, before that stuck-up sorority girl bumped into us. Can you use the remote on Bianca?" She asks with hopeful eyes.

Will there ever be a time Violet doesn't catch me off guard?

"Are you serious? You want to mess with your own roommate?" I ask.

"Well, yeah. You have your mom and Michelle at your house, but I don't have anyone to play with at my place."

"Why don't you play with the normal Bianca?"

"You know that's not what I mean! I want some sexy fun! Sure, Bianca's a nice piece of eye candy, but I want to do more than just look. Please, please please?" Violet begs.

Hearing Violet say she wants me to use the remote more was one thing, but the thought of her specifically asking for me to use it on her roommate is extra strange to me. Still, I guess I don't mind helping her out. That's what good boyfriends do, right? I hope I don't regret this decision...

"Alright, alright. I'll do it. Just calm down."

"Yes!" Violet pumps her fist in the air in celebration. "Oh, and don't tell me what she ends up with yet. I want to see if I can figure it out on my own."

"Whatever you say, V." Calling her that just reminds me of everything Bianca told me earlier. I still can't fully believe that was real. Obviously Violet noticed it too, since she blushed and looked away when I said her nickname. "Just promise me you'll keep an eye on her."

"I promise! I'll take extra good care of her!" Violet exclaims.

Honestly, I sounds like we're treating Bianca more like a pet than a person at this point. Though I suppose with the Random Remote, that's not entirely unjustified. A few minutes after I agree, Bianca comes out of the restroom. The plan is for me to zap her on our way to chemistry so Violet can't see what she ends up with. Luckily, we usually don't run into too many other people on the way there, so there shouldn't be much danger. With that in mind, Violet and I give each other one last kiss before heading off in opposite directions. As I walk beside Bianca, I keep my hand in my pocket, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Do you manage to get Bianca on your way to class?
