The moon goddess disappears as the caravan sets out for Arvandor. Jake sulks alone up front, leading the way as the group follows. The silence between them is thick and stifling. Sarah is worried about Jake, but Dana isn't as forgiving.

"What's wrong with him?" Sarah asks Dana, breaking the silence.

Dana scoffs, "He's a monster. He doesn't care about anyone or anything but himself."

"He's not a monster," Sarah retorts. "He's just been through a lot."

Dana shakes her head in disbelief, "You're too kind, Sarah. He doesn't care about anyone or anything but himself. That's why he did what he did."

"He did what he did to protect everyone," Sarah argues.

"Does that justify it?" Dana counters. "He's still responsible for everything that happened."

Sarah bites her lip, knowing deep down that Dana is right, but she can't bear to see Jake as the monster that everyone believes he is.

Meanwhile, Jake trudges ahead, brooding over everything that's happened. He's unsure about his future and the binding to Sarah is the last thing he wants. He's never been good with commitment and he doesn't like the feeling of being tied down.

As the group approaches Arvandor, Sarah suggests taking the villagers to the adventurer's guild where she works. Dana perks up at the mention of the guild, impressed with Sarah's connection to such a prestigious organization.

"I know some people there who can help us," Sarah says, trying to convince Jake to come around. "We could even buy some land with the money the moon goddess gave us. We could start over, make something good out of all of this."

Jake doesn't respond, but the idea of a fresh start appeals to him, even if he's still unsure about Sarah and the binding.
