Chapter 24 by Trom1806 Trom1806

What's next? Perhaps it would be better for you to play dead?

You get up and continue to fight.

Overcoming your nausea, you rise to your feet again.

A fierce battle is raging around you.

You feel a slight breeze of air from behind. And the stench of an unwashed body. It's like someone decided...

You quickly turn around. And you get hit with a spear. Thanks to your agility, you manage to dodge. Otherwise, you might die, despite your chain mail. After all, the tip of the spear was aimed right at your head...

You see your opponent. He is a large pirate with a muscular build and a brown skin tone. His face contorts in a grimace of battle rage. His two hands hold a short spear.

Another blow! Your enemy has cunningly decided to immobilize you. The tip of the spear wounds you in the left leg. You barely had time to stagger to the side. But the metal still cut the skin of your leg just above your foot. You, overcoming the pain, strike back with your sword. You want to hit the enemy's chest with the blade of your sword. The pirate easily dodges and strikes with the shaft of his spear. The blow is aimed at your face. He wants to stun you.

But you manage to duck down and make a quick dash forward. You manage to reduce the distance between you and the enemy. You strike upward with the dagger. The tip of the dagger pierces the pirate's throat and goes further... The tip of the dagger reaches his brain...

You deftly jump to the side as the corpse, still holding a spear in its hands, falls down.

Someone pushes you in the back. You quickly turn around and you see the back of one of the sailors. He swings a short sword and fights a pirate who uses a one-handed battle axe. You want to help this sailor. You are trying to get around the pirate from the right side. The pirate notices you and backs away slightly.

But two enemies are moving towards you at once. One of them holds a small spiked mace and a small buckler shield. The second enemy is holding a short sword and a dagger.

Now you are **** to move back. Your enemies are trying to surround you and attack you from different sides. You make a couple of attacking lunges. Enemies block them with ease. Mace blow. Sword strike. Dagger strike.

You were able to dodge the mace. The blow of the pirate's sword struck you in the left side. However, your elven chain mail was not pierced. This is the only reason why your ribs are not severed now.

The blow of the dagger struck your left hand. The chain mail could not prevent the piercing blow of the narrow blade of this dagger. Therefore, you feel excruciating pain due to a wound in your left arm just above the elbow. Fortunately, you managed to stagger back a little and the blow of the dagger was not as effective as it could have been.

Another blow from the sword. You parry the pirate's blade and move it aside. Simultaneous strike from a pirate dagger. You deflect this blow with the blade of your elven dagger.

And you get a kick in the stomach from a pirate in his hands with a mace and a buckler shield. Your body is thrown away. You hit your head painfully on the wooden deck. Your vision blurs slightly, but you can see the grinning faces of your enemies. A pirate with a mace raises his weapon above your head. In a couple of moments, your skull will crack due to the impact of the metal spikes of this mace.

The rapid movement of an object.

You are surprised to see the shaft of a short throwing spear sticking out of this pirate’s chest. Probably one of the sailors decided to finish off this scum. The corpse falls to the ground near your body. The second pirate attacks you with a sword and a dagger at the same time. The dagger makes a cutting blow to your stomach. This time your chainmail can withstand the hit. You manage to deflect the sword blow a little to the side with your elven dagger. At the same time, you get down on one knee and you stab with your thin elven sword in an upward direction. Your enemy doesn't have time to dodge. The tip of your sword pierces his stomach and moves deeper into his body.

The beast cry of pain. A scream that is almost inaudible due to the fact that the space around is filled with the noise of battle...

You pull your sword out of the ugly wound. You rise to your feet. The pirate's corpse falls on its back. His dagger falls down and sticks into the wooden deck. He did not let go of the sword...

The bloody abordage continues...
