You decide to open the gate

The key is already in hand and you have an elemental infusion of light, one of the greatest weaknesses to monsters from what you had been able to gleam while you were deciding what you wanted to become. Plus with your ability to cloak yourself you should hopefully be able to hide from anything that seemed to dangerous. Your decision made you hold the key in front of you and turn it as if you are undoing a lock. For a moment nothing happens until with a rumble a large purple doorway rises from the ground in front of you. The front of the door is in the shape of a demonic face and with a rather angry growl its face splits as the gate opens and parts before you. With only a slight hesitation you step in to the doors and the realm it guards.

A slight bit of disorientation hits you causing you to blink and when you open your eyes again the grass fields that had been surrounding you are gone and you now stand in a world with a purple sky and a path of jagged stone leading to what looks like a field of rock spires in the distance. You turn around and find the path behind you leads to what looks like a forest of dead trees and to your right and left an seemingly endless expanse of barren land without any land marks in sight. Looks like you have a choice to make to decide where to explore but first to make sure that you can you resummon the key and make the same motions you used to enter and to your relief and satisfaction the gate reappears and opens for you. Stepping through you reappear in the grasslands that you had woken up in which shows you that you will reappear in the same place you opened the gate at which is good knowledge to have. Stepping back into the gate you reappear in Apollyon and also reappear in the same place you had just left. Content with the knowledge that you won't be trapped in here you take a look around you and now decide on the which place you should start your exploration.

To the north are the stone spires, behind you to the south is the dead forest, and to the east and west are just barren land with nothing in site.
