You are Greek mortal with exceptional abilities

You are a young farmer living in ancient Greece named Aretos. You are sixteen years old, the age of adulthood, and are soon going to leave your family farm for two years of military training. This has you worried for your mother, because your father died a few months ago. You are worried that she will be unable to handle the farm on her own.

Your mother however is a priestess of Hera, queen of the Gods, and is therefore highly respected among the people. Some of your neighbors have agreed to help your mother in her times of struggle.

Because your mother is a priestess you have always been very involved in the community of your polis. You are fit and athletic. At the gymnasium, you always beat the other boys in footraces and boxing and wrestling. You have also shown skills as an orator and politics. Although you are not a direct relation to any of the oligarchs or the royal family, you are a distant cousin to the king, and he and his advisors have taken notice of your abilities.

Being such a good athlete and a skilled orator gives your immense skills with the woman around you. Your first sexual experience was a couple years ago with a shepherd girl, with whom you still occasionally get together. But since you have started winning races you have also attracted the attention of most of the sexually active women of Argos, your polis. Both through your mother and through your several victories you have frequently enjoyed the company of priestesses.

You lead a seemingly normal life but early in your childhood you began to realize you were somehow different. You have always been stronger and faster than your friends and you have never felt as though you quite fit in.

Finally, it is the last day before you join the ranks of the hoplites. You have just returned home in the afternoon after bringing the flocks in from the hills, of course after saying goodbye to your favorite shepherd girl, Ora. Coming to the simple home you share with your mother you are met with a surprise.
