You've Got Bigger Concerns

"I thought you said they couldn't leave the exhibits," Allegra says.

"I didn't think they could! Whenever they 'left' before, they went somewhere else, not out into the hallway!"

Allegra looks around the doorway, almost as if it might bite her.

"Wait, I think I know what happened," she nods.

"Huh?" You cock your head.

"Well you kicked her, M. She didn't walk out on her own. You kicked her through the doorway."

"And that... matters?"

"Best guess," she shrugs.

"Should we go after her?" You ask.

"There's already possibly a bunch of werewolves on the loose, right? The ones who got bitten."

"Yeah, but she's... a particularly enthusiastic werewolf. Also I don't know what she was talking about with regards to alphas."

"There's kind of a lot of debate on that," she says. "Like science says that the whole alpha, beta, omega thing is bunk. Only happens with wolves in captivity, not in the wild. So it's kind of something humans impose on wolves."

"But werewolves are kind of humans and wolves," you say with a bit of confusion.

"That's why there's debate. In uh... in the sites I visit. Plus it's not like we're dealing with werewolves who actually existed before this haunted house exhibit, yeah?

"Yeah, near as I can tell it just made everything real."

"So think about this, Morgan. Keith set all of this up. How big of a nerd is your brother?"

"...shit," you mutter. "Yeah, we could be dealing with a whole lot of elaborate bullshit."

"Maybe it's him I should be comparing notes with," Allegra grins with a waggle of her eyebrows.

"Let's just go find Jenny before I put my foot in my mouth any more," you grumble, stepping out into the hallway and heading for the stairwell.
