Chapter 20

Does the griffin trigger the rune?
Yes
It took some effort, but eventually it paid off. The griffin stumbled blindly right into one of the traps that Marius had set. Within a moment, one of the beasts legs was surrounded by an ethereal glow. The griffin was stunned upon the sight of such a glow while its leg refused to budge.
Not wasting any time, the Rune Blade began his move. He didn’t have enough time or resources to create powerful runes, so it wasn’t going to be long before the effect wore off. He had to set off the trap quickly.
He went to the tree that had the appropriate vine and chopped it with his sword, cutting the triggering vine with a single swipe.
Creaks could be heard as the bent piece of wood snapped to attention at the release of tension and slammed the griffin at full **** with the surface covered in makeshift stakes.
This resulted in the large spike paddle to explode from the **** and the griffin to cry out in agony on impact.
Marius grimaced as he inspected his prey to see how it was holding up.
Was that enough?
