On one fine morning at Bayfield University, Lori Spengler woke up with plenty of time to spare. As always. She had prepared last night, her nurses uniform was ready to put on, she had her books ready for her studies as a medical student, she had a little cake for Tree’s birthday and she had ensured it was poisoned. Today was going to be a great day!

Yet she felt something had been a bit odd in her dreams and she gratefully clutched her comfortable plaid pajamas as if some part of her was grateful for such coverage. She had dreamed of the birthday surprise she had planned, she had heated dreams about the doctor but there was something just on the edge of her mind, something troubling just out of her mental grasp, she was sure there was a third dream.

Lori shook her head, it was not wise to work herself up so early and soon everything would be fine. Tree would be gone and she could concentrate her attention on the professor but first, she had to prepare for the morning. Since Tree was going to be awhile, she decided to freshen up with a shower but as she stripped off, some part of her mind was screaming to take a towel and secure it firmly in the bathroom. As she passed the front door, she had the urge to just check it was properly closed, something that never usually bothered her.

She admired herself in the mirror and got into the warm shower, letting the water wash away any remaining sleepiness and give her a perk up. Giving a hair a quick shampoo, she smiled as she must that nothing was going to go wrong, within the day Tree would be gone. Lori would be the good grieving room-mate, such a tragedy, she had always been kind to Tree anyone could tell that. When she was good and wet, ready to face the joyful day, she stepped out and grabbed the big fluffy towel, carefully drying herself off.

She still had a bit more time, so what should she do? Study? Get her own breakfast but definitely not a cupcake? Have a little light relief to start the day?
