Chapter 499

Head back to Japan soon?
Yes, time to get back to the regular grind!
"So, Melissa will make arrangements to find an apartment near home, and become a member of Class 1A by Friday," Izuku was telling the girls as they headed back through the airport to the jet Toshinori had brought them in.
"Ah, getting another girlfriend already!?" Inko grinned as she hugged Izuku. "I'm going to have SO many grandbabies!"
"Mom!" Izuku protested as Toshinori coughed and looked slightly uncomfortable at the idea of his honorary niece being involved in Izuku and Momo's sexual shenanigans. Even if, logically, he had been convinced that nothing that happened between consenting adults was his business, unless he himself was one of said consenting adults.
Speaking of which, he and Inko had talked a bit after things had settled down. He'd somewhat admonished her for her reckless activity in running to the roof, given she had had no Hero training. Though he did acknowledge that he couldn't fully blame her, given it was her son putting himself at risk. And he had also thanked her for using her Quirk to relieve Wolfram of that damn device.
She in turn had thanked him for his prompt action in getting to Izuku, while also refusing to apologize for making sure Izuku was okay, and doing what she could to help him. He could see just where Izuku had gotten his stubborn determination from.
Long story short, they ended up talking about some other things, nothing major, just some aspects of each other's daily lives... And Inko had been all too eager to share some embarrassing stories about Izuku that he would gleefully hold over the young man's head from time to time. And they were starting to hit it off, and agreed to go out next weekend. Now he was just debating how to tell Izuku... Mostly leaning towards a way that would mess with his head the most... Hey, might as well rip the bandage off, and get a laugh about it!
And also admonishing himself slightly for even thinking about being hypocritical by telling Izuku not to make a move on Melissa when he was making a move on his mother. That would just be embarrassing if he persisted.
.....
"...you hate me, don't you?" Aizawa asked Nezu, staring at him flatly. He wasn't amused. For one thing, this impromptu meeting was cutting into his Sunday sleeping time before he did his Underground Hero work during the night. And for another, Nezu was increasing his workload by expecting him to take on two more students for Class 1A.
"Why, Eraserhead, whatever gave you that impression?" Nezu inquired merrily as he sipped his tea. "I simply believe that we should be upping the pool of prospective Heroes sooner rather than later, due to the rising activity of the League of Villains. All Might made a convincing case for that. Besides, did you not push for one of the students in question to be included in the Hero Course?"
Aizawa clicked his tongue. He should have known that that walking, over muscled headache had a role to play in this. Still, Nezu did have a point there regarding the student that had caught his interest. But even so... "That's true, I did want one of the new students added, but my original plan was to find some sort of pretense to kick out someone else, most likely Mineta, and replace them, not add to the class size," Aizawa grumbled. "Not to mention this other one, Melissa Shield, is a blatant case of strings being pulled. Without a Quirk, she's unfit to be a Hero."
If the sudden imaginary drop in temperature in the room was anything to go by, that had clearly been the wrong thing to say. "Careful, Eraserhead, that almost sounded discriminatory there," Nezu remarked coldly, before taking another sip of his tea. Little known fun fact about Nezu, he identified more with those who were Quirkless than most others. Because they knew what discrimination and powerlessness felt like, and given he had been experimented on for being an animal with a Quirk, he could relate to an extent. It was part of why he liked Izuku and Toshinori so much.
Aizawa gulped. "I don't mean it like that, sir," he said hastily. "I'm just being realistic. She would be at a natural disadvantage compared to everyone else." Aizawa didn't exactly hate those who were Quirkless, nor approve of them being bullied or discriminated against. He just thought them trying to be a Hero was irrational, having a similar view as All Might did before before Izuku had gotten his attention. "And while I personally agree that a Quirk isn't everything, as I have to fight essentially Quirkless myself, at least I usually have the luxury of being able to level the playing field against the more bothersome Quirks Villains can use. Even ignoring all that, she'll have an extremely difficult time getting any Hero agencies she might intern with or be a sidekick for to even take her seriously. We both know that society values Quirks highly. It's not fair, but it is the reality."
Nezu relaxed slightly. "Perhaps, but she has other talents that can help her get around such a handicap better than most. And before you say that anyone could use the Support Gear she can create, use and mastery are not the same thing. Most Heroes master their Quirk and only use Support Gear to compliment it. She, however, can not only make Support Gear for herself and others, but without a Quirk to work on and taking up her time, she can focus on using and mastering versatile forms of Support Gear instead. She has potential in an entirely different way," Nezu explained. "As for the social handicap... Well, I admit, strings are being pulled where she's concerned, but it's mainly to get her a fair shot to begin with. To get her foot in the door, nothing more. It will be up to her to get said door open and walk in. Same will hold true for any agencies she might try to work with in the future."
Aizawa grimaced. "...if she underperforms..."
"Then I will say nothing should you see fit to expel her. But you are to give her a fair shot," Nezu told Aizawa firmly.
"Very well," Aizawa stated, standing. "I'll give her a chance."
"Good. They'll join your class this Friday. Be sure you make all the preparations but then." Aizawa grunted in acknowledgement before leaving. He had had a few other reservations about the arrangement, like the fact that those two would be behind, though that wasn't as much of an issue, given General Studies had had students transfer to Heroics before, so there were protocols in place to catch them up in a rush, and he intended to make them join the study group Izuku had set up anyway. Then there was the blatant nepotism going on regarding Melissa, though he had to admit that with her being Quirkless, she'd have to use whatever other advantages she had at her disposal to even have a shot. If she could follow through, that one could be overlooked. And then there was the fact that it was HIS class getting the extra students instead of Vlad... Though he probably has himself at least partly to blame for it, given his interest in the other student. And then there was the fact he'd have his work cut out for him to ensure no one else in class judged those two, one for being Quirkless, the other for having a Quirk some considered unsavory... Had to be careful with that one, or it would look like favoritism. Still, Izuku being the class rep could help with that.
Damn, there was a decent counterpoint to every argument he had. And after accidentally annoying Nezu, he hadn't even dared bring the other arguments up, it would have been pushing his luck with the rather vindictive... Whatever animal Nezu was. He'd managed to mollify him after wording his first argument poorly, but he didn't dare risk irritating him further. Being on the wrong end of Nezu's ire was not a place Aizawa ever wanted to be again.
He really should consider being a bit less blunt in the future.
Anything happen upon Izuku's arrival home? Or time skip to the next day?

Sex Genie
An adoring, obedient magical servant!
A magical lamp finds it way into some world or another, whether the "real" one, a fictional one, or even just one completely made up by the writer. It is either empty, or already contains a sex genie. A sex genie, much like normal genies, grants the wishes of the one who holds their lamp, but unlike normal genies, they are limited not in the number of wishes they can grant, but in the kind of wishes. In short, they can grant an unlimited number of wishes, not just three, but the wishes must be sexual in some way. Furthermore, the sex genie inside the lamp should be completely loyal and dedicated to their Master, or Mistress, loving them unconditionally, and lacking any desire to ever say no to them. If the lamp arrived in the world in question empty, it will suck in the first person to rub it, infusing said person with its power, and rewriting their mind to be completely submissive. It is in a genie's nature to serve. If the lamp already has a prepackaged genie, then the one writing the story can come up with their name, gender and appearance.
