Chapter 19 by DrRyuku DrRyuku

What's next?

Wow! A Functional Family!

Skye drags you down the hall, full of new energy at the thought of finally going home. The walls and numbers speed by you in a blur, the girl pulling you somehow filled with unnatural strength as she races to her apartment. You finally stop in front of a wooden door that looks just like all the others, with the only difference being the number 932 on it. Skye looks nervous as she hovers her hand over the doorbell. After a few seconds, she takes a deep breath and presses it. Almost immediately, it slams open and an older man who looks like a weightlifter looms over the two of you. He's giant, easily 6'5 or more, and weighs at least 110 kilograms of pure muscle. He glares at you menacingly, and you can feel his blue eyes burning into you as he stares deep into your soul. His blonde hair is short-cropped into a buzzcut, and you think he looks somewhat like a giant Nidoking. This is someone who can snap you in half with his bare hands.

"Daddy!" Skye yells gleefully and jumps onto the scary man. He returns the hug, crushing Skye against himself as his body rumbles with laughter. The two of them hug for a while, him lifting Skye into the air as he shakes her back and forth.

"Skye! Welcome back! We were so worried about you." He says warmly and Skye leans against him with a sigh. "So who is this young man you brought with you?"

"Daddy, this is Indigo. He helped me get back to Viridian City!" She says brightly, leaving him to clutch your arm. "He was so brave, and I promised him he could stay with us for the night. Can he stay?" She asks, and his gaze towards you warms considerably. He isn't glaring at you anymore, but you still gulp nervously as he studies you.

"Pleased to meet you Indigo, you can call me Alistair." He says, offering you his hand. You shake his bear paw of a hand as it easily engulfs yours.

"The pleasure is all mine." You reply, and Skye ushers you in past her dad. Her apartment is large and spacious, with a long hallway ahead of you, a living room to your left, and a dining room to your right. Skye pulls you into the living room, and her dad follows after closing the door.

"Okay, Indy. I'm going to take a shower, so you and my dad can talk to each other!" She says happily and pushes you onto the couch before bouncing off down the hallway. It’s a beautiful living room. Most of the furniture looks hand-made, and a fake fireplace blazes on the wall across from you. There are 2 sofas and 3 armchairs placed in a U-shape around a table, and Alistair sits down in one of the armchairs. He leans back and flicks on the flat screen mounted over the fireplace. A news channel comes on, and you lean back as well to watch it.

“So, you a trainer as well?” He asks in his gravelly voice.

“Yes I am,” You reply nervously, “Today’s my first day.”

“Hmm. Won any battles yet?”

“Just one, I beat my friend.”

“Hmm.”

“Sweetie, who’s this?” A woman asks, coming into the room. You have to make sure to keep your mouth closed because this woman is not just a bombshell, she's a nuclear missile. Long black hair tied back into a ponytail, and an hourglass figure that's perfectly accentuated by her clothes. She's dressed simply, just a green t-shirt with a Pidgey on it and some jeans, but on her, they might as well have been the finest clothes from Saffron city. You can see where Skye got her looks from because this woman is the adult brunette version of her. She has a small smile on her face, probably used to the way men reacted to her. You swear that you hear angels sing as she enters the room, and Alistair glances at her with a smile. She sits down on the armrest of his chair and looks at you.

"This is Indigo, Skye said he helped her get home," Alistair says, and the woman beams at you.

"Hi Indigo, I'm Cecilia, Skye's mom. Thank you for helping our daughter." She says warmly, and you just about melt in a puddle just from hearing her voice. How can a being so perfect exist in this cruel world? "How did you two meet?" She asks. Oh boy, how the hell do you answer that?

"Oh yeah, I watched your daughter lose to a smurf before taking it up the ass, being humiliated, and then sucking the smurf's cock. Then she broke down crying and I escorted her home. We also nearly had sex outside your house."

"I met her on route 1." You say, and she narrows her eyes.

"You met her on route 1." She says, her voice cold and flat. Icicles stab into your heart from the way she speaks, and you immediately know what she's thinking about you. She thinks that you scavenged Skye. How do you explain what happened?

"Oh yeah, I was a bystander to your daughter losing her anal virginity to a man old enough to be her father. Nothing I could have done."

"Mommy!" You hear Skye yell, and she barrels into her mother, nearly pushing her off the armchair. Skye buries her face in her mom's side and Cecilia pats her back awkwardly.

"Mom, this is Indigo, he helped me get home after he met me on route 1. I wouldn't be alive without him!" She says, smiling brightly and looking quickly at both of you. "Now, I don't know about you Indy, but I'm hungry! Come on, I'll heat up some leftovers. Today's my dad's day to cook, and he's amazing!" She runs over and grabs your hand before dragging you into the dining room. Who is she and what did she do to the quiet and submissive Skye you know?

Both of you enter the kitchen, and Skye quickly gets to work pulling things out of the fridge and grabbing bowls and utensils. You take a moment to admire her outfit as you watch her zoom around the kitchen. She's wearing an oversized white t-shirt that sticks to her body from wetness, and a pair of tiny gym shorts. Suddenly, she pops in front of you and pokes a finger into your mouth. It tastes delicious, a little spicy, a little savoury, and a little fatty. You suck on her finger and she giggles.

"Told you my dad's cooking is amazing," Skye says with a smirk. She tosses a bowl of something into the microwave, and the two of you wait for it to finish warming up. You finally get a chance to look around the kitchen, which is really just basic when compared to the living room. A sink, stove with an oven, a dishwasher, and some cabinets line one wall. On the other is a sort of storage room, which you assume is full of spices. The two of you wait silently for the microwave to finish, and you can see Skye bouncing with uncontrolled energy. You brush your fingers against hers, and she grabs your hand with a smile. The microwave beeps and Skye walks over to grab the food. She quickly divides it into two bowls, and both of you walk back to the living room. Her parents are sitting on one sofa, her mom curling up against her dad, and Skye sits down on the other. You sit down next to her and she hands you the bowl, finally letting you see what it is you're going to eat. A bowl of ramen stares back at you, looking absolutely delicious. There are noodles floating in the broth, with some green onions and broccoli. You can see some pieces of chicken on the side along with some whole cherry tomatoes. You politely wait for Skye to start eating before you ravenously vacuum your meal down. Within 5 minutes, both of you finish your meal and Skye leans onto you with a sigh. Taking that as their cue, her parents look at the two of you.

"So Skye, how exactly did you meet Indigo?" Her mom asks, tone neutral.

"On route 1 like I said," Skye replies.

"How did you come across him?" Her mom presses. Skye blushes, and you can feel her nervousness. Is she going to tell her parents about the battle? She's fidgeting uncomfortably, not sure how to answer.

"After my battle..." She says hesitantly.

"Skye, what is it?" Her dad asks.

"N-nothing, it's just that my memory is- uhhh- You know, your cooking always makes my brain shut down!" She says with a laugh, trying to deflect. Nobody laughs.

"We saw the battle and its aftermath if that's what you're worried about. What we want to know is, where does Indigo play into this?" Her mom asks, and Skye clutches your arm protectively.

"He helped me." She says defensively.

"Skye." Her mother growls, using the mom tone that indicates displeasure. You sit there quietly, not wanting to draw their ire. The silence stretches on for an uncomfortably long time, both of her parents glaring at the two of you.

"FINE! I... I didn't take the loss well, and Indy- He... He was nice to me after..." Skye says quietly. She's blinking back tears and trying to curl up again. You rub her shoulder reassuringly.

"Aww, baby it's okay," Her mom comes over and hugs her, "It's okay to feel this way." Skye is sitting there quietly, trying very hard not to cry and her dad comes over to start stroking her hair. This finally breaks through her resistance and she starts silently weeping.

"I was- I was ready- I was going to give up, and Indy convinced me not to, "She said, in between sobs, "He helped me. He helped me keep my dreams. And then he saved my life from the Rattata swarm! He's not- he's not a scavenger like you think, he's a good person!" She starts sniffling, and you grab her a box of tissues off the table. Her mom motions to her dad, who switches spots with her and gently extricates Skye off your arm. Her mother grabs your arm and pulls you out of the living room and back into the kitchen.

"What the hell happened to Skye?" She growls. "I've never seen her like that! You are going to tell me everything. Every. Last. Detail!" Something tells you that this woman is a heck of a lot scarier than her built-like-a-bear husband. You gulp nervously and meticulously explain everything you saw, starting from the Pidgey acrobatics, all the way to the Rattata swarm. Her mom groans, and mutters curses under her breath as she thinks about what to do.

"Okay, Indigo. You can stay. You seem like a nice kid, and you helped my daughter. Just... Don't hurt her more okay?" She sighs, before patting you on the shoulder and walking back to the living room.
