Chapter 12 by Trom1806 Trom1806

So, the time has come to fulfill the promise...

Windriders-warriors are sent to help the village of Fred's Hangar.

Having comprehended the conversation with the shaman, you leave your hut. You go to the center of the settlement.

The rays of the morning sun illuminate everything around.

There are many people in the square in front of the tribal meeting hall. Children, women, old people...

Male windriders are armed and equipped. They stand in a large line separate from the main crowd.

War chief Satlon is dressed with combat leather armor. His powerful wings suggest that his physical capabilities are clearly above average. In his hands you see a rare and deadly weapon (you are not sure what it is called - but you assume that this firearm is very long-range; probably reconnaissance expeditions of other groups of windriders were more successful than your expedition...).

Also, you notice groups of unfamiliar windriders. Their appearance allows you to quickly understand that they are members of other tribes of windriders.

Blued black wing plumage. Thick eyebrows. The looks of yellowish eyes.

These warriors clearly belong to the tribe of Nightwings.

Tribe of windriders-nomads.

The tribe, in a skirmish with whose hunters your father Jeremy died many years ago...

But there is someone else...

A small group of warrior-windriders, with bluish-purple tinged feathers. On their faces you see strange grayish growths in the forehead area. These growths are somewhat reminiscent of scales...

You are straining your memory...

These…

These are windrider warriors from tribe of Stormhunters. Their tribe lives in extremely inaccessible settlements, which are located in the high mountains in the northeast of your settlement. Stormhunters lead a fairly isolated lifestyle, permeated by the worship of the Spirits of the Mountain Peaks. In this tribe, shamans have much more power than usual.

War chief Satlon addresses the crowd: “Today our warriors, together with our allies, will march against the vile wingless grounders! Our forces are mighty! Two hundred of the best windrider warriors will crush the pitiful resistance of our enemies! We will take **** on the wicked and disgusting groundwalkers for attacking our kins! We will defend the honor of the tribe and return with rich trophies! "

The cheers of the crowd indicate that the military leader's speech aroused some enthusiasm.

You push through the crowd and one of the warriors leads you into the warehouse building.

You put on leather armor and take weapons: a steel machete, a spear, a long steel dagger and a light crossbow with a supply of steel bolts. Unfortunately, firearms are rare. It's hard to find. Many of the samples are broken. And finding ammunition is an even more difficult task.

On your way out of the warehouse you meet Ben. He is already dressed in combat gear. In his hands is a spear.

He smiles joyfully at you and says: “It’s time to teach these scums **** owners a lesson! Isn’t that right, Captain Dar?”

A sad thought comes to you: "The mother of Ben experienced premature joy from the return of her son... Now he must leave home again. Will he come back again?"

You answer something. But your answer is drowned in the hubbub of the crowd.

So, your small troop of windrider scouts is assembled again. This detachment of ten persons is again under your command.

Only now your squad is part of the army that is going to war.

Soon the powerful sound of hundreds of strong wings fills the surrounding area.

Windrider warriors go on a campaign.

Skyblooded, Nightwings, Stormhunters...

All these warriors, under the command of the war chief Satlon, are moving in a western direction.

The goal is the Fred's Hangar settlement.

You are part of this army of windriders.

What awaits you in the future is still shrouded in the darkness of the unknown.

However, your premonitions do not promise you an easy walk...

The small bottle of Ashandra in one of your pockets is a symbol of the complexity of the situation.

So what happens next?
