Which fox does Vivia follow?
White
Peering past the overgrown branches, Vivia focused on the gaps that might reveal such a bright coat in their shadows. She caught a glimpse of white in her periphery, finding the attendant rustle suspiciously quiet. Vivia took care to move slow on her way forward, also toward that suspicious spot, unable to breathe as quiet as she wanted in this heavy air.
A snapping noise drew her attention to the other side of the track, yet turning to investigate yielded nothing of note. When she faced that suspicious spot again, she gasped and stumbled at the surprise of being face-to-face with a woman with white hair.
Snow-white furs emerged from the bushes, draped over her pale form, with wide blue eyes locked on Vivia's startled stare. Before Vivia could react, the woman had closed the distance between them to lean in until their noses were inches apart. Seeing the vulpine ears atop that head of silvery hair left her speechless anew when the woman gave only a curious sniff.
“You were looking for me,” came her mellifluous voice, a sweet scent suddenly added to that of the humid greenery with her breath so close. Fruit? Honey? Vivia had no time to consider which.
“Who are you?” was the only question she could think of in the moment. She looked down to see the furs adorning the woman... snake along her delicate form, noting she should stand a handspan taller and that they were only level by this girl rising to her toes in high sandals.
The vulpine woman wore little expression, hardly blinking as those blue eyes bored into Vivia's soul. “I am called Silver. Why were you looking for me?”
“I...” Inching back, she found Silver kept pace, maintaining the same few inches between their noses until her back was to the other side of the trail. “I saw a white fox... “ Something about the furs drew her gaze again, and she noticed the way they wrapped around her from behind to cross over chest, abdomen and hips...
“You see one right now.” The blue eyes finally blinked, and suddenly they were a bright shade of gold. “I see a tired woman. And I smell...” In one swift movement, Silver swept behind her, a trailing white tail in her wake. Vivia realized that was what those furs were—multiple tails—and with renewed suspicion tried to spin around to face this vulpine girl once again, that voice momentarily behind. “...something familiar.”
A soft hand slid across Vivia's stomach before she knew it, making her squirm in her rotation. Spinning in place, she wound up facing Silver again as the vulpine girl crouched in the middle of the path, pale body bared with her tails swaying lazily behind her in a feral posture. While she wore the tails and ears of a fox, the rest of her wore the appearance of a lithe, lissome and bewitching young woman of fair color.
Those eyes were blue once again as Vivia stared cautiously. “You're not... I mean, not entirely... Let me start over. I am Vivia, a traveler in search of the Zulgra Tree.”
“There are many trees here,” Silver said, head tilting to the side as she began to deftly crawl in a circle. “You can find them easier than you've found me, to be sure. But you look weary from seeking. Now that you've found me, wouldn't you rather catch your breath?”
That had been something Vivia did automatically, and now that she had, she found the air decidedly rich with scents. Sweet, earthy, warm, and musky... She had momentarily forgotten her tracking of Silver, and was surprised to feel a soft push against her butt that jolted her from her thoughts.
“Hey!” She stumbled forward, turning around to see Silver knelt where she stood, eyes closed and nose upturned in one breath of her own. In that moment of shock, her golden eyes appeared once more, hooded.
“I smell a familiar scent... A female in heat...”
The vexation in Vivia's face turned red. She saw the vulpine girl rise, tails curling about her as she affected a coquettish pose on the path ahead. “I don't- That's not how-” The accusation left her to flustered fumbling.
Those blue eyes gazed knowingly as Silver stepped on down the trail, back turned while those tails swirled in spiraling patterns over a pale, pert butt. “I find a vixen's instinct is rarely wrong. If you're not too tired for a chase... you might find me sympathetic enough to help.”
Is Vivia too tired?
