What?

Keith’s eyes snap open, but there’s nothing to see, or so it would seem. He’s still surrounded by white, though it’s less blinding than before. It’s more like being stuck in a cloud. He rises to his feet, listening as he hears more voices, seemingly muffled somehow, like hearing a conversation through a door. He can make out three voices, including the first he heard, seemingly talking about him. One voice is obviously feminine, soft and pleasant. Another is rougher, but still similarly feminine. The last could be masculine, but it’s hard to say for sure…

“Of course it worked. I followed the instructions exactly.”

“So he’s real? He’s cute!”

“You WOULD think that, wouldn’t you…”

“Yes, he’s real. Pulled from another dimension. I left the veil spell up, so he can’t see us, but he can probably hear us. The spell includes a language adaptation, so that’s one less worry.”

“Ughhh, you make everything so BORING! At least your veil thingy means your gooey ass wont scare him off!”

“You’re one to talk, muscles for brains! Remember, he’s from a different dimension, he’s probably only ever seen humans!”

“All the better! I’m exotic and shit!”

“No, we’re all scary monsters, remember? Ugh, it wouldn’t hurt you to pay attention in class!”

“Maybe you’re scary, but I’m hot! Look at me!”

“Yeah, yeah, save it for the human…”

“Ladies? Maybe save it? He looks very confused and worried. As cute as that is, we should probably get on with it.”

Keith looks around as he listens, noticing that he can see the floor beneath his feet, which appears to be hardwood of some kind, marked with strange figures carved into the wood. He seems to be in the center of some kind of circle, although when he puts his hand out, he feels some kind of invisible wall surrounding him. Keith is feeling a bit of panic rising when one of the voices speaks again, this time addressing him directly.

“Mister human? Don’t worry, you’re not in any danger. I’m going to remove the veil spell, okay? Don’t freak out…”

There’s something said that he doesn’t understand, and then the whiteness seems to fade.
