What comes around, goes around...

Zelda used the slate to teleport back to the shrine and made her way to the next one at the eastern Abbey. Her destruction of this troop of bokobolin had emptied the area of enemies and beyond these rocky hills was another ruin. She walked by the crumbling walls and found the doorway to her destination to be blocked by rubble. So she climbed the wall and plugg her slate into the shrine's pedestal once more.

Inside she received two runes, both were remote bombs with one being round and the other being square. After completing the puzzle, she received another spirit orb and found herself outside the shrine again. The rubble in the doorway seemed trivial now as she placed a bomb and blew it all away with ease.

Upon passing through the doorway, she could hear the grinding of stone and metal. Behind a broken archway was an old automaton that stood lifeless before, but now glowed blue with an ominous red eye at its center. It beeped and a red light pierced Zelda's chest and painted her with a red target. Fear grew in Zelda as the beeps grew faster and she dashed for the cover of the archway that had stood between them. The beeping stopped and a bright flash of light accompanied an explosion on the other side.

She could feel the heat of the blast on her skin and began to breath heavily as she had no idea how to get by this machine. Zelda didn't hear beeping so she assumed it would only fire if it knew where she was. Peering around the corner, she saw the glow of the eye and started to think it might be the machine's weak point. So she armed herself with a bow, took a deep breath and ran out from cover. Quickly she aimed for the eye while it already prepared its shot on her; the arrow flew true and pierced its eye. The automaton whirred and spun its head, giving Zelda the chance to run for the hills and get out of this thing's range.

Her shot didn't provide enough time however and the beeping began once again, and it was even too far away for Zelda to have enough time to properly aim. She instead focused on running and put everything she had into getting out as fast as she could. Her speed took a hit when she reached the ridge, but she was almost in the clear. The beeps stopped again and Zelda's heart calmed for a split second until she heard the explosion.

She crashed into the dirt as the heat dissipated and Zelda slowly pushed herself back onto her feet. Zelda survived the blast and was finally out of range, but it did come at a cost. Looking down at herself for injuries she thankfully saw nothing...nothing but her bare skin from her feet to her chest. The girl was now naked as the fiery blast had burned her sundress and underwear to ashes.

Zelda couldn't tell if she was more mad than embarrassed as she had just spent half the day getting that dress back. Now, the sun was setting and she still had two more shrines to complete. She wasn't about to go running around the plateau naked like a wild woman, instead she thought to make camp for the night and worry about it tomorrow. In the distance she could make out an old wooden structure, adequate camp for the night as it might still have a roof.

So she set out across the field sprinkled with ash trees, and found the cabin to be unoccupied. Zelda was surprised to see the building was intact and went inside to look around while there was still light. She found food on a table, with some chairs, a bed with sheets, and in the back was an old woodsman's axe. The two mushrooms she found to be edible and satisfied her hunger for now, and the bed was comfy and warm. Sleep came soon as the night fell Zelda slept the night away and left her problems to tomorrow's Zelda.
