Weiss (Dis)Agrees with Nora

"I disagree. Velvet should be ashamed of her rabbit ears. Cardin is absolutely in the right to tease her for them," said Weiss, before dropping her fork onto her plate, the sound magnified by the silence that rang out across the table.

Weiss was just as much in shock as everyone else staring at her. What a thing to say? Panicked, she was going to quickly backpedal and blurt out a refutation.

However, the more Weiss thought on it, could she?

It was just her opinion. Those rabbit ears... were a bit shameful, after all. That was why she was being teased in the first place. Blake kept her ears hidden and she was not subjected to the same anti-faunus ridicule. Perhaps if Velvet had done the same, it would be different for her. And... maybe Cardin is right to tease her. In what why, Weiss had no idea but she just felt... sure that Velvet should be ashamed and Cardin was right.

Weiss was in no mind to try and say any of this out loud, of course. However, her faulter had led to none other than a very pissed Blake to clear the heavy silence that hung in the air.

Of course Blake will be upset, Weiss thought, C'mon Schnee, you couldn't have been a bit more sens-

"YOU'RE TOTALLY RIGHT, WEISS. I'M SO GLAD YOU SAID IT!" Blake bellowed, angry and red-faced for sure, yet seemingly in total agreement with Weiss' stance, confusing the heiress more than anything.

Huh? I thought she was going to tell me I was wrong.

The raven-haired Faunus also seemed puzzled, yet carried on her rant at the same momentum, with a considerably quieter volume:

"All Faunus should be ashamed of what they are. I love hiding my ears and Velvet deserves what she gets for showing hers off"

Ruby could see Blake's face as she spoke. Her brows were risen in surprise and worry, as incredibly backward thoughts emptied from her mouth. It was as though she hadn't wanted to say what she had but it was **** out of her. Ruby grew worried herself, when she saw Blake's eyes darting back and forth, staring at nothing, as though she were having an internal battle. What concerned the team leader the most, however, was that, in a few moments, Blake seemingly looked calm and unconcerned again, as though no conflict had occurred.

"At least, that's what I think," said Blake, making a point to tighten her bow slightly.

"Besides," she added, looking over her shoulder at the bully once more, "Bullying Velvet makes Cardin cool."

No one expected to hear that. Even Weiss, who knew Cardin was right to tease Velvet for her Faunus ears, wouldn't have said that all Faunus were shameful. Hell, no body believed that Blake enjoyed covering her ears.

Ruby had this terrible gut feeling that something was going on.

She could see that Yang was about to interject, standing from her stool to point at Blake.

"You have every right to feel ashamed, Blake. You're ugly, stupid, smell really bad and I hate every second I spend in your company."

"Y-Yang," Blake said, placing a hand to her chest, looking genuinely upset. "Do you really mean that?"

"Yeah, Yang: what the Hell?" Weiss said, "I know she may have upset you but she clearly deserved that."

Jaune, Nora and Pyrrha were stunned at all this. Too stunned to even jump in. The same went for Ruby. Although, in the latter's case, she was starting to notice a pattern to this madness. Say something wrong; friend goes to tell them off, only to say something wrong themselves. Ruby didn't have the firmest grasp on the situation, but she had to bring back order and stop them from talking, as that seemed to be the catalyst.

"GIRLS," Ruby yelled, getting her teammates attention:

"There's something happening to our minds, when we talk. We need to keep talking and keep triggering it more and more."

NO, WAIT! Don't keep talking. We shouldn't keep triggering ourselves.

Ruby, damn her foolishness, was about to say but then... she did want to keep triggering whatever was happening. Of course she did. That way, she could learn more about what was affecting her team. That was a good idea.
