We make our way back to the ammunition dump

“Where in world did you find this ridiculous outfit?” I ask as we near the village. “I feel stupid!”

“My friend and I have a knack for resourcefulness.” Hobbs explains with a laugh.

I look down at myself in what looks like a schoolgirl’s uniform which is far too small, with a tight, short skirt that shows off my long legs. The shirt is too tight to fasten the top buttons, so I’m showing some significant cleavage. They even made me do my hair.

“It’s perfect. Dressed like that, you’re just asking for it!” Clarke jokes.

“Asking for what?”

“Attention.”

They can’t help themselves with their laughter, especially Smirnov. I’ve caught him looking a few times, checking me out with a disgusting smirk on his face. I know that everybody must be enjoying seeing me like this. They are men. They can’t help themselves. Even Dadonov blushed in embarrassment. It must be a sight to see, me in such a ridiculous outfit tramping through the woods with a machine gun.

We stop at the edge of the forest, and the village lay before us.

“Get ready to go into town.” Clarke tells me, handing off his weapon. He’s wearing a civilian suit.

“I’ll take that.” Smirnov tells me. I begrudgingly hand my PPSh over to him.

“Don’t get used to it.” I tell him sternly, and take off my ammunition belt.

“Here.” Hobbs says, approaching me and presenting a German handgun. “It’s mine but you can bring it with you.”

He takes a moment to show me how the safety works, and I tuck it into my waistband.

“That’s not going to work.”

“What about this?” I ask and try tucking it in behind my back.

“It’s too obvious.”

“Nobody is going to look.” I argue.

“People are going to look.” Clarke comments with a laugh. “Just leave it with him. Don’t worry, I have mine.” He pats his body beneath his shoulder.

I return Hobbs’ pistol to him.

“Good luck.” Dadonov tells us, before Clarke and I leave the safety of the trees.
