Washed up ashore
Eyya gasped and opened her eyes. She found herself in a strange looking hut. It had a wooden thatched roof .The tent smelled vaguely like sweat and chlorophyll . The walls of the hut were thatched tight with woven fibers light brown fibres – small streams of light came in from in between the weaves. Vaguely visible through the holes was thick dark green vegetation.
Eyya sat up and took in her environment – then looked down at herself. She had various small cuts and bruises on her body. Her white corset had been cut open in various places – but her navy blue jacket still appeared to be mostly intact and still on her body. Her hair had been wildly frazzled – overall for what she had gone through she was relatively unscathed.
She looked to her left to see a sleeping figure. There was a girl lying to her right, she had silver hair and pretty features. Her chest rose and fell gently and she was wearing a rough loincloth and she had – pointed ears?. Eyya paused in shock. She should have been wondering about where she was and what was happening – but instead she was dumbfounded.
An elf!
Elves were a mythical race – only read about in legends – and were not supposed to exist. They were said to be magical beings, the original discoverers of magic who used there natural affinity to strengthen its link to our world. Despite looking quite unkempt – like a person who had been living in the jungle in a hut would – she still had an ethereal beauty.
Then Eyya came to her senses – now was not the time for a scholarly exploration on the origin of elves.
I have probably been captured by a local tribe of orcs.
The elf girl stirred, interrupting her thoughts, and rose to her knees.
“Ünka I have not seen your kind for many ages, and only from a distance when I have. Do you know where you are?”
Eyya recognized the language she was speaking. It was a dialect of a land of human tribes that had been conquered by the empire many years ago. She understood enough of the language to make out what the elf was saying. Ünka was their word for human.
“I – have I been captured by an Orcish tribe. But your and Elf how – how is this possible” Eyya satup up and exclaimed
“Ünka-
They were interrupted by loud noises grunting noises coming from outside the tent.
“My right to claim as second chief ” A rough voice spoke gurgled “Best hunter should decide” another one chimed in. “ENOUGH!” another voice boomed “First I will see this Ünka”
Three orcs strode into the tent – at they all had strong pot bellies and had the signature two tusks jutting out of their mouths. They were wearing light dirty loincloths and nothing else. In the center stood a light green orc - it was immediately evident that he was the leader of them just from his presence. Beside him were two orcs – one a very dark green and the other a slightly blue color. The dark green orc had an ugly mouth and twisted curling yellow tusks. He leered at Eyya openly.
Out of the corner of her eyes Eyya saw the elf’s cheek’s flush, her pupils dilate and her head turn down.
The leader stood and stared at her – the others waited and took his queue.
A blue orc? There is something different about them from any I have seen before. Its not just their looks – I can feel it – feel something. But the same principles should stand. Orcs respect strength and they fight. They respect brute power.
The blue orc had a neutral look. Like he was seeing through her and the dark green orc had a nasty look in his eye. The leader just looked at her impassively.
“She should be mine – I found her” the dark green orc whined.
The leader sighed
“Grogbak I not break rules for you. Already you rise fast. Rare treasures must be tumbled. Show your strength and you will have”
“I am Eyya Ashfirst – I am pleased to -”
The leader of the orcs burst out laughing.
“Funny Unka – you not know our ways – soon you will be one of our wives.
“Thats not – you see – I have much more value- I would not make a good “
“Unka no choice – Unka not understand”
He gestured to the Orcs next to him
“Come – no one is to touch unka until the tumble”
Before Eyya could get another word in the orcs spun around and left.
