Waking up

You begin to drift back into consciousness, your limbs aching and sore, you try to move but are nearly unable to, they feel heavy almost like you have weights strapped to them.

"You're awake!" you hear Haruka say.

You feel the ground shake slightly, as she runs over and she kneels next to you.

"You ran off," she tells you "I'm lucky I found you-" she says, trailing off.

The memories come back to you, Rachel! You try to pull yourself up, body aching. You feel her put a hand on your chest.

"Please, take it easy," she pleads.

"We need to rescue Rachel!" You push her hand aside.

"Okay-" she sighs.

You try to pull yourself up only to find your legs collapsing underneath you.

"Here," she says as she keeps you from falling onto your face.

She then pushes you to lean up against a tree.

"I think we may have to wai-" Haruka explains.

"-No," you interject.

"Did you bring a medical kit?" you ask.

"Um, yeah," she answers.

She reaches into her pack, she then pulls out a medical kit.

"I think Yasmin, gave me something in case something like this happened," she continues.

She pulls out an injector from the kit.

"I think she said this was for this; however, you really should try not to push yourself too hard."

As she continues, as she does, she injects something into your arm. A chill spreads from the site, washing the aching away as it diffuses.

"You ran some two and a half miles. It took me a while to find you." She says, turning back around putting the injector back in the bag.

Turning back around, she begins helping you off of the ground.

"Thank you," you say, turning to her.

"Aaron" Haruka says.

"Yes," you respond.

"Promise me you won't run off, and leave me alone again," she says.

"I promise," you say, you feel a pang of shame.

You left her alone right after your sister was **** for the same thing. You really should have been more careful.

Pushing the thought into the back of your mind, you gather yourself, and your gear. You then head off with Haruka towards where you saw the creatures carry off Rachel.
