Chapter 7 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

Where to go from here?

Wait until the football game

You're mentally exhausted after having supper with Amy, and the idea of working to improve your relationship with a bunch of people was sending your mind into a tailspin, so you opt to just talk with some of your acquaintances in the trombone section in the time between supper and step-off for the game.

During the game, you try to find little opportunities to talk to Amy and Summer, like congratulating Amy on her performance or talking to Summer in the stands. You did neglect one thing though. All of this moving around that you were doing on the field was certainly making Mrs. Adams upset. One look at the Affection Multiplier told you that.

Adams, Ella

Affection Score: -35 (-2)

Pearson, Amy

Affection Score: 126 (+8)

Wallace, Summer

Affection Score: 23 (+12)

You weren't going to let a little thing like losing two points with your band director overshadow the 20 points you gained with your two girls. What's more, Amy was getting very close to the 150 mark. You weren't sure how difficult it was to gain points, but you guessed that gaining over 20 points in a day on a 150-point system was really good.

The fact that Mrs. Adams only lost 2 points was also intriguing. Maybe the Affection Multiplier only multiplies positive feelings towards people, maybe negative feelings aren't multiplied in the same way. It was a gift, after all, and it's be unlikely that whoever sent you this gift made it a double-edged sword, unless they had a really sick sense of humor.

This was going to need more testing. Though it'd be better if it was tomorrow, your body is aching now, not because of mental exhaustion, but also physical exhaustion.

Tomorrow rolls around
