Chapter 7 by SquashedFlat SquashedFlat

What's next?

Vivian's Thugs Find Texas

(Originally by Gentleman Jack)

Avoid the townsfolk proved to be a simpler task than expected for Texas. Her diminished size granted her easier access to hiding spots that she normally would've glossed over in her normal size. The ease of her task did little ease her fears however. At her height, even her weakest of foes posed a considerable threat to her. She couldn't afford to make even the smallest mistake, least she wind up squashed flat and used as an insole for the rest of her life.

She stayed close to the walls as she progressed, her eyes darting back and forth as she made absolute sure that heads were turned her way. For the most part, the town was rather scarce, as most folks didn't share her daunting sleep schedule and were still asleep. The people that were out and about were the folks who worked long, thankless hours at high risk jobs. As such, they were too preoccupied on the day ahead to pay much attention to their surroundings, allowing Texas to skirt by unnoticed.

There was on instance where she thought someone had spotted her. A lumbering gator anthro was on his way to the coal mines when he suddenly stopped and turned her way. The sheriff froze and felt her heart begin to race. Even at her regular size, this man would cut quite the intimidating figure. Just when she thought that she would have to fight for her life, the gator sucked his teeth and walked away. She was puzzled by his behavior when she turned her attention upward. Above her head there was a notice on the wall from Mayor Vivian talking about her new tax plan. Judging by his irritable and dismissive demeanor, it was clear that his attention was on the poster rather than Texas herself. She breathed a sigh of relief and continued onward.

Little by little, Texas made her way over to the wagon. She wasn't sure what she would even do once she arrived at her destination. She wasn't the type to beg, but if that's what it took to convince Abra to reverse the spell, she'd do it with little hesitation. She didn't have much time to considering her options when she spotted something quite troubling. The bear and rhino ladies she had previously eavesdropped on were standing outside of the post office, chatting it up as they awaited orders from Vivian. The road in front of them was completely barren due to people avoiding their general vicinity. Texas didn't want to run the risk of being spotted by them and opted to cut through the nearest alleyway in order to slip by them.

This would prove to be a problem as well. She didn't get very far before she found herself standing several feet away from a rat girl that she instantly recognized to be one of Vivian's goons. On any normal day, Texas would scoff at the idea of being intimidated by such a puny specimen, as she would stand almost a head above her. With her new height, the sheriff was seeing the runty little rodent in a whole new light. No longer was she a scrawny little punk that she could easily brush past. Now she was a towering amazon of a woman who could squash her flat beneath her plump rear and powerful thighs.

Luckily for her, the rat didn't seem to notice her presence right away as she sat against the wall drinking her cares away. She was lucky enough to be off duty for a moment and was trying to get as much enjoyment out of her free time as she could. Texas slowly began to back away from her, taking great care to not make any noise as she did so. There was nothing for her to hide behind, so even the slightest sound could make the thug shift her gaze back upward. The sheriff was so preoccupied in keeping his attention on the woman in front of her that she didn't hear the light footsteps plodding behind her.

"Hey Sarah! You back here?!" a voice called out.

Texas' eyes widened as the rat woman turned her attention to the source of the voice, which happened to be in her direction. She prayed that her presence would go unnoticed like it did with the gator, but that wasn't the case. The thug's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the sheriff, her gazes shifting to her bottle a couple of times as though she were debating whether what she was seeing was an **** induced hallucination. Texas wasn't going to wait for her to decide as she turned to make break for it, though she didn't get very far before she ran into a jean cladded wall. The woman who had called out to Sarah had rounded the corner and bumped into Texas.

"What the hell?" the woman in front of her inquired as she looked down at the shrunken sheriff.

The woman in front of her was yet another rodent but with a slightly dark coat than Sarah. Now that she was up close to one of them, Texas was frozen in a mixture of awe and fear. It was nothing short of surreal to be put in such a position, where one of the tiniest and weakest of thugs was now might giant. And from her shrunken perspective, she couldn't help but finally take notice to how stacked rat anthros really were. So much so that the sheriff couldn't even see past the woman's hefty bosom. As if reading her mind, the woman before her reached down and picked her up by the scruff of her neck, bringing her to eye level.

"...Texas? Is that you?" she asked incredulously.

"...Uh... n-nope... ah ain't never heard'a no Texas, partner!" Texas said with a nervous laugh. The thug seemed to disregard her response as she looked over to Sarah who was still sitting and looking confused.

"Oi, Sarah! Get a loud of this! It's like a pint sized Texas!" she called with a grin. The shock of her discovery was quick to wear off as her mind quickly shifted over to the opportunities it presented. Sarah nodded and tossed her beer bottle to the side as she ran over to join her friend in examining the puny creature.

"You think it's really her, Sandy?" Sarah asked as she poked Texas a few times in the stomach.

Texas' eyes widened as she was hit with a sudden epiphany. These weren't any ordinary rodents she was dealing with. She actually recognized them! They were two of Vivian's most skilled informants and runners, Sandy and Sarah Mayflower. She had more than a few run ins with them on her patrols, often catching them in the middle of a crooked exchange of some kind. Those instances would typically end with her beating the snot out of the two putting them away until the mayor used her connections to bail them out. All of a sudden, the sheriff didn't quite feel so confident in her abilities.

"I dunno... but it don't really matter none, does it? Even if it ain't really Texas, it still looks like her!" Sandy chortled before tossing Texas onto the ground.

"I guess so... but what should we do with her? We do kinda owe her a beating from last time, don't we?"

"We could do that... or we can bring her to the mayor and get a sweet promotion!"

"What would the mayor want with a tiny Texas?"

"I dunno. To use as a seat cushion or somethin'?"

As the two debated on what to do with the tiny lawman, Texas began to slowly crawl away from them. She barely made it an inch before a foot slammed onto her stomach knocking the wind out of her complete. Sandy had planted her foot onto her chest and didn't even bother to stop the conversation as she did so. After a bit of discussion, the two sisters decided to...

To...?
