What Had The Spell Done?

Texas Had Shrunk

(Originally by Cheese111)

Texas awoke with a large yawn. It'd been a while since she slept as deeply as she had done last night. Her bed felt more comfortable than ever before, but another long day of upholding the law awaited. These criminals weren't going to arrest themselves. When the blur of just waking up faded reality set in. The sheriff's heart almost skipped a beat as she looked in awe at the sheer size of her room. Everything was enormous and with growing fear she turned to look at her bed and nightstand. No wonder her bed felt so comfy all of a sudden. She was no more than a foot tall! What the hell had happened to her?! Suddenly she smacked her forehead and knew there could be only one answer.

"Abra, that pest!" She yelled out. Cursing under her breath the weasel took stock of her surroundings. She had the good fortune of still wearing her outfit, which had shrunk with her. Far less pleasant was the look of her gun. She'd put it on her nightstand before going to bed and as such it was spared the effects of the witchdoctor's tricks. It was the size of a large cannon to Texas, completely useless. Granted, a gun at her size probably wouldn't do much anyway, but she felt naked walking around without it. With some effort she clambered down the side of her bed and up to a window. Outside everything was still normal, she was the only one affected by Abra. No doubt her harsh words did not sit well with the strange cheetah.

As loathe as she was to admit it, the sheriff needed her help now. But that required getting to her, which meant getting through town. If none of the townsfolk stepped on her by accident she still had to worry. Both Vivian and Georgia would love to get their hands on her in this state. Texas shudders at the mere thought of ending up in their grasp. She couldn't risk waiting either. Who knows if this was as small as she was going to get. She only had a precious dozen inches in size.

The weasel hopped down from the window and walked to the door. It was ill-fitting enough to let her slip underneath, a small blessing in disguise. Texas doubted her ability to open the door normally, smiling wryly at the thought of all the acrobatics it would take to even reach the handle.

Standing at ground level and seeing the huge town stretch out before her further cemented the sheer enormity of her task. She had to find Abra and convince her to change her back to normal. With a deep breath she set off on her journey.
