Chapter 3 by Leonine_Knight Leonine_Knight

Create your character

Valentine Moore - The Lionheart

This is only my second piece of writing for this site, it's also my very first attempt at SOLO Roleplay (and therefore, also, my very first time using the Mythic Game Emulator), on top of which it's also my first time ever playing Monster Of The Week. I had wanted to give solo roleplaying a shot for a very long time and stumbling upon this hub story pushed me further towards that but it was, specifically, reading through the Mike Stein story and the Hero's Harem premise that gave me the final kick out the door.

Anyway, the premise I wanted to go with was to replicate a little of the feel of Kendra and Wish!Verse Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as in a tough no-sense character that excepts their destiny and trains hard. I really like this reversed dynamic of having the authority figure actually pressure the hero to have fun and to have a social life, rather than having a more fun-loving protagonist who treats monster fighting like a chore. I am aware that my Chosen One is very similar to the others on here but it is genuinely a character concept I kept returning to over and over.

Without any further ago, here's the Character Sheet:

Valentine Moore - The Chosen One

Charm (-1), Cool (+2), Sharp (+1), Tough (+2), Weird (-1)

Fate - How You Found Out: Some Weirdo Told You / Nightmares & Visions - Heroic: You Are The Champion + Mystical Inheritance - Doom: A Nemesis + Hosts Of Monsters

Moves - Destiny’s Plaything: At the beginning of each mystery, roll +Weird to see what is revealed about your immediate future. On a 10+, the Keeper will reveal a useful detail about the coming mystery. On a 7-9 you get a vague hint about it. On a miss, something bad is going to happen to you. - I’m Here For A Reason: There’s something you are destined to do. Work out the details with the Keeper, based on your fate. You cannot die until it comes to pass. If you die in play, then you must spend a Luck point. You will then, somehow, recover or be returned to life. Once your task is done (or you use up all your Luck), all bets are off. - Resilience: You heal faster than normal people. Any time your harm gets healed, heal an extra point. Additionally, your wounds count as 1-harm less for the purpose of the Keeper’s harm moves.

Special Weapon - Form: handle (1-harm hand balanced) - Business-end: artifact (add the “magic” tag) + blade (+1 harm) + heavy (+1 harm) - Material: Steel

History - Lydia Moore: You are blood relations. - Joshua Hill: A rival, at first. - Priyanshi Patel: Fated to be romantically entangled

Luck - 0/7

You can mark off a Luck box to either change a roll you just made to a 12, as if you had rolled that; or change a wound you have just taken to count as 0-harm, no matter how bad it was. If your Luck boxes all get filled, you’ve run out of good luck. Chosen Special: When you spend a point of Luck, the Keeper will bring your fate into play.

Harm - 0/7

When you suffer harm, mark off the number of boxes equal to harm suffered. When you reach four harm, tick “Unstable.”

Experience - 1/5

Whenever you roll and get a total of 6 or less, or when a move tells you to, mark an experience box. When you have filled all five experience boxes, you level up.

Extras: Valentine now possesses the memories of every Lionheart who's come before him.

I've included an "Extras" section on each character sheet I've made, to basically include either information that something during the character creation process called for or just random elements I wanted to include for narrative reasons. In terms of sex scenes, I'm going to include at least one per "episode" and I'll label them appropriately but, generally speaking, they're going to be pretty vanilla (at least by CHYOA standards) and the central thrust (pun not intended) of the story is a very basic monogamous heterosexual romance.

What's next?
