Upgrades And Date Planning

“Of course I was gonna call ya. What, did ya think I’d leave you hanging or something?” Mia says, giggling. It’s two days after the raid on the mana factories, and I’m relaxing on the couch, cuddling with Ivy and Paige, while Mia talks on the phone to Lena. The conversation takes place at a rapid pace, and I can’t help but listen with one ear. Mia winks at me.

“Couldn’t ghost a hottie like you, not when ya so flirty like that.” Mia says, and I can hear the wink in her voice. Mia listens for a moment and laughs at what whatever Lena said back. “Just wanted to check if ya wanna meet for coffee sometime tomorrow, you, me and Gemma.” Mia passes right by me and I manage to hear Lena’s response.

“Sounds like a fun idea for a threesome.” She says. Mia smirks upon hearing that. “We’ll see what happens cutie. So are ya down?” She asks. Mia nods at me, and I can only assume Lena’s response is positive. “There’s a cafe right next to the Fateweaver outpost barrier in Strathfield, Oliver Brown. They do amazing hot chocolates. Say 12?”

Ivy nudges me and I look at her. She playfully sticks her tongue out at me and I respond in kind, smiling. “It’s a date then. See ya soon gorgeous.” Mia says, hanging up the phone. “Why’d you rope me into this?” I complain jokingly. The aeromancer cackles. “Cause, ya dummy, she’s hot. And she might join our guild, and you need to be there as our leader.” She says.

“True true. It’ll be fun. She seems fun.” I reply, relenting immediately. A ding sounds, and I check my character sheet, excited. As I hoped, the Artificial Spirit skill has finally hit 100. “Ready for some upgrades Ivy?” I ask. She nods happily. “This should be juicy, since we skipped on doing anything at 75.” I remark, opening the upgrade window.

We’re immediately rewarded upgrading. I’m almost salivating at these choices, they’re all so juicy. I look to Ivy, who has a wide smile on her face. “Any preferences between the three?” I ask her. She hums for a moment. “I’m really not sure, they’re all pretty valuable.” She says.

“Large plants vastly increases the utility and scale of my abilities, healing plants basically removes the range restriction and magical plants has possibilities we don’t know yet.” Ivy summarises. I nod silently, letting her work this out herself.

“I guess between those three, the best option is Healing Plants. The utility is amazing, and it’s such a high immediate upgrade that it’s difficult for the other two options to compete.” She says. I nod, tapping the middle option on the window. The next option appears.

It’s a slightly easier choice here, as far as I can see. Ivy seems to agree. “I think we should go with Large Plants this time. Magical Plants seems like it’s going to require a lot of investment to work the best, and I’d rather have completed the mundane plant usage path first.” Ivy summarises. I nod, tapping the large plants option.

Continuing the trend of fairly rapidfire decisions, Ivy makes her choice quickly. “Tri Healing please. With the number of people in our guild, plus the fact that we might be about to recruit another one, it’s more important for me to be able to heal more people at once so I can continue to be the group’s healer.” She says. With that, the regular choices are done.

That’s an interesting one. I look at Ivy for her decision. Chewing on her lip, she contemplates the three choices. “I would like Carrying Her Own please. It would make cleaning the palace a much easier task.” She explains to me, and I nod. I tap the button, interested to see what the next one is going to be.

Now this is an interesting choice. Nature Spirit is an exciting perk, and a fairly potent one. It promises further upgrades into Ivy’s affinity for nature. The second material bonus slot provides another wealth of possibility, and refined body 2 is a good upgrade for an already existing ability.

At first glance, a 15% bonus all the time is better than a 25% bonus some of the time. But since Ivy already has the first version of Refined Body which provides a 10% stat bonus, it’s more like a 5% bonus all the time vs a 25% bonus some of the time, which is a bit more difficult of a choice. “I would like Refined Body 2 please.” Ivy requests. I tap the button, and the last window comes up.

Before I get a chance to talk to Ivy, she leans closer to me, holding her face a few inches from mine. “Don’t you dare pick Her Own Journey. Understand?” She asks me. “Maybe I will then, just because you told me not to.” I brat, testing her. She raises an eyebrow, grabbing my chin with one hand. “You wouldn’t want to disappoint your Mommy dom, would you now honey?”

My eyes go wide. Ivy smirks, knowing the hold she has over me with those words. I look down submissively, shaking my head slightly. “No ma’am.” I say. “Then be a good girl and pick Slow Reset instead.” She asserts, and I giggle happily. “Yes Mommy.” I reply, and she smiles approvingly. I tap the choice as Ivy takes her hand away, the round of perks done.

“I might have to get you a collar soon enough. I’ve read that it’s a big deal for dominants and their submissives.” She remarks. I perk up at that. “Seriously? Yes, please!” I say, and she giggles. “If I had have known you’d be so into the idea, I’d have suggested it weeks ago.” She says. I nod emphatically, already daydreaming of what it could look like.

I read the window out to Ivy and we both grimace. “That’s a bit annoying. Puts a bit of a dampener on your power growth.” I say. Ivy nods in agreement. “I guess it does reduce the number of decisions I have to make.” She says, trying to find the bright side in it. “It’s probably to stop you from getting too overpowered. Normally healers don’t do combat stuff too.” I point out.

Luna jumps up onto my lap, interrupting our conversation and chirping at me for pats. I laugh and start stroking her soft fur, cuddling into Ivy while my cat cuddles into me. The fluffy cat purrs at my touch and I relax into the moment. It’s hard to imagine how life could get better at this point.

We’ve busted up a mana factory, I’m going on a date tomorrow with Mia and a pretty girl we met who might join our guild, and I’m snuggling with my cat and my mommy dom in a home made perfectly for us through magic, while my other girlfriends spend time relaxing in the same home. Life is pretty great.
