Ugh next day

A/Note: Haven't posted as much as I'd have liked recently. Got a little bit going on with work and as a result motivation has kinda dipped. But going to push my way through these next few chapters cause I'm hoping it brings a little more stability to Issy and Scarlett's relationship (maybe).

The Sound of tennis balls being hit rings out through the morning. You're still grumpy about losing last night and you certainly aren't keen on finding out whatever surprise is in store for you this afternoon, though you were kind of interested in watching Scarlett model lingerie.

You continue the training session, doing your best to put these thoughts out of your mind and concentrate, there is still a lot of hype following the win on the weekend and everyone is working hard. You keep up this intensity and all four of you approach the net at the end of the session and are greeted by Miss Simmons who always seems to look grumpy at the fact she occasionally has to attend training despite the fact that she definitely volunteered for the manager position.

“Again well done on your win girls but we aren't going to rest on this, despite the fact you had a win your opposition were, lets face it, hopeless. Bec you versed the number two on their team your win was expected, Scarlett congratulations for beating their number 1 you fought hard and played well, Isabel you are here on a partial scholarship playing number three, had you dropped a game to that girl I'd have told you to run laps all morning and Flick, one win is better than last year so that's a positive.”

You weren't sure if your pre-existing bad mood was making it worse but you can't help but think “Fuck this bitch, knows nothing about the game then decides to show up once and thinks she can be critical. And she's still going...”

“Anyway while, it's good to win if you think every week will be that easy then you have another thing coming. We play the number 2 ranked team in the second week and I'm told Eastern states (ESU) thinks they are going to knock IONA off the top spot this year, so if you want to be competitive, which you do, you'd better keep working. So if anyone thinks they're going to get away with skipping training then they will be answering to me.” After finishing her speech/rant she simply walks off and leaves you there

“What the fuck is her problem.” Scarlett waits till Miss Simmons is a safe distance away before starting. “We all know there's better teams but man let us have a moment right?”

You try to lighten the mood. “Probably cause she struck out hard and didn't get any coach dick.” The girls laugh but you notice a lengthy sideways glance from Bec and decide maybe testing the crazy chick isn't the best move.

Flick steps up to try to defuse any tension left in the conversation. “Anyway its still a few weeks before the season even starts and we have a week and a bit off in between that, loads of time to tune up and I'm pretty sure Bec has some sort of week long **** session in mind during that week off so we are well on track.”

You look at Bec who's nodding fairly intently, no one else decides to ask any questions because sometimes its better not to know.

On that note the session ends, unfortunately being close to the end of semester no one really wants to stay around and chat as exams are looming and people are starting to stress out. You have a quick shower and head off to statistics.

As much as you know this class is important and you need to study, it's just so hard to pay attention. You grit your teeth and **** your way through the first hour but during the mid lecture break you just cant help but pull out the AMA.

You sit for a while content with your purchase and how things are going before you decide to pay attention again to the lecture. There's only 30 minutes left so you struggle through it and actually pick up a few things that might help you study.
