"What the fuck!" said Kathy. "Since when do U.S. marshals speak with British accents?"

"Yes, it's so annoying when people pretend to be something they're obviously not," said Buffy-in-Faith. "Isn't it, Kathy?"

"I'll take that blonde woman if you don't mind," said the woman in green as she walked up to Kathy.

"I'm sorry," said Kathy, "but you can't have her."

"And why is that?" asked the woman in green.

"Because of the age-old legal principle, 'I saw her first'," said Kathy. "Besides, I'm a U.S. marshal too."

And with that, Kathy reached into her purse and pulled out a metal badge that looked every bit as convincing as the one held by the woman in green.

"Seriously?" asked Buffy-in-Faith.

"You obviously have no idea who you're dealing with, young lady," said the woman in green.

"You obviously have no idea who you're dealing with either, lady," said Kathy. "Otherwise you wouldn't call me 'young lady'."

The woman in green smiled. "You honestly think that I can't recognize a Mok'tagar demon when I see one? Or that I couldn't possibly know anything about its average lifespan?"

"How do you know all that?" asked Kathy.

"Easy," said the woman in green. "I used to be a member of the Watchers Council. It was my job to know these things."

"So Buffy was right," said Kathy. "There is a Watchers Council."

"Of course there is," said the woman in green. "That's how I met your friend Faith here."

As she said that, she pointed to Buffy-in-Faith.

"Wait a minute," said Buffy-in-Faith. "Number one, I'm not Faith and that blonde girl that Kathy is carrying is not Buffy. Number two, there's no way you could have been one of Faith's watchers. Faith had only two female watchers that I know of. One was killed by vampires and the other one -- oh, hell, no!"
