Trying some other buttons

The ambient noise of the bar hummed around Barry as he skimmed through the functions on the strange remote. The implications of some of them were sending his mind into overdrive.

“What are you looking at?” Erin peered down at the remote from across the table.

“I…well…a lot!” Barry chuckled incredulously. “Like what do the pause and play buttons do?”

“Pause and play? Like a TV remo-”

Erin suddenly froze mid-sentence, her mouth still partially open where she had been finishing the word “remote.” Barry blinked at her in momentary confusion, before he realized what was happening. He had pressed the pause button out of curiosity while she was speaking, and it now appeared that his date had completely frozen in place.

“No fucking way…” Barry muttered, leaning forwards to study her.

He waved a hand in front of her face. Nothing. Her eyes didn't track the movement, didn't even flicker. They were still focused on him, or rather, focused on where he had been a second ago before he had hit the “pause” button.

"Erin?" He asked, receiving no response.

Barry looked down at the remote. The LCD screen now displayed "PAUSED" in blocky letters along with Erin's name underneath. His thumb hovered over the play button, but curiosity got the better of him. He reached out across the table and felt her arm. It was warm, but everything about it seemed still. He then leaned forwards and reached up a bit higher, gently tickling his fingers along the side of her neck. Still no reaction. He was tempted to take these tests further but thought better of it. He held up the controller and then hit “play.”

“-oteeooohhh!”

Erin suddenly unfroze and jumped slightly in her seat with a tiny laugh, her hand momentarily jerking to her neck as she twitched slightly. She blinked in momentary confusion and looked around.

“What just…that was weird. Did you do something? It’s like the entire bar just skipped a beat and I swear I felt like sudden tickling…thing.”

“Uh…yeah!” Barry laughed. “I just tried the pause button and you, like, froze.”

“What? No I didn’t.” Erin scoffed then seemed to consider what Barry had said. “Wait really?”

“Yeah. It was like you were frozen in time. I tried to tickle your neck to see if you’d react and nothing happened.”

“That…That’s insane.” Erin scoffed, but there was an air of curious excitement to her voice.

“This remote is insane!”

Barry laughed before another command menu caught his eye. It was something called “Phantom Force” under the “Pleasure and Play” commands. This seemed to open up a whole other command section of the remote control, so he just stuck with what appeared to be some sort of automated subroutines. One in particular caught his attention: “Teasing Touches and Good Vibrations”. He glanced up at Erin, who was still processing what had just happened with the pause function, a look of cautiously excited fascination on her face.

"Alright, I'm gonna try something else." Barry said, his finger hovering over the selection.

"Should I be worried?" Erin asked, though her tone suggested she was anything but.

"Maybe a little." Barry grinned and pressed the button.

Erin twitched in her seat and a confused look crossed her face. Her eyes then widened and she let out a little gasp as she crossed her legs beneath the table.

"Oh! Oh okay wow..."

Erin let out a breathless giggle as she recrossed her legs and shifted her hips in her seat like she was reacting to some unseen force doing something dastardly in her underwear.

"What the fuck..." She whispered incredulously to no one in particular, before biting her lip as she pressed her thighs together.

"Are you alright?" Barry asked, his thumb hovering over what appeared to be the stop button.

"This..this is wild..." She let out a little giggle that ended at a higher pitch than she probably intended. "It feels like there's a sentient vibration playing...oh god playing with me down there." She momentarily closed her eyes as her mouth fell open with a silent moaning smile. "Oooh okay. Barry you gotta turn that thing down. I...oh wow..." She let out another incredulous giggle and squirmed slightly in her seat. "Barry please I'm not gonna be able to keep it together like this!"

Barry realized that he was just staring at Erin. He shook his head and pressed the stop button the remote. When he did, his date slumped forwards in her seat and let out a little pleased groan before straightening back up. She gave her head a little shake a looked at him with an excited smile.

"Barry this is...incredible." She laughed, almost like she was surprised at herself. "I wanna see more, but...maybe we should get out of here first?"

It was Barry's turn to laugh. This remote seemed like it might actually be real. If so...well he had to see what else it could do. He looked up at his date and grinned.

"Sounds like a plan."
