Try to Sneak Out

Carrie chimes in. “Well we could try to sneak out.”

Cassandra scrunches her face. “It might work. I have this.”

She pulls out a small black stone.

“This renders the holder uninteresting to demons. If we are each touching it we can try to just walk out.”

“Let’s give it a shot.” You say. Anything that can get Carrie to a shaman faster sounds like a good idea.

You each touch the stone and begin walking slowly toward the door. You are amazed, the large security are simply ignoring you.

Suddenly, one particularly large hairy fellow sniffs the air. He turns and faces the three of you. He lovingly pulls out a nightstick and begins walking toward the three of you.

“Shit.” Cassandra whispers.

Carrie looks at you then lets go of stone. She seems to shimmer for a moment as she holds up the rod.

“Grrr, Ar!” The burly guard grunts and runs toward Carrie.

She side steps his charge with grace and slams her rod into his shin.

His gives a primal scream and falls down.

Carrie glares at him. “Stay down!”

To your surprise the guard obeys.

Carrie steps toward you. She flicks the stone from your hand, sending it flying.

Suddenly, everyone is looking at you and Cassandra. The two of you run toward the exit.

Carrie clears her throat. “He can go.”

Suddenly the guards back off you.

You turn to Cassandra. “We’re going to make it.”

Carrie continues, pointing at Cassandra. “She stays. She was trespassing.”

A guard grabs Cassandra, then another. She struggles, but is soon subdued. You run out the exit.

As you go go you look back at Carrie. She gives you a lust filled grin and mouthes ‘catch you later’.

You take a breath of fresh air. You wonder if you should try to warn Cassandra’s order. You aren’t even sure how and you are pretty sure it will make Carrie angry.
