Cassandra

The woman is tall, nearly six feet, with plain brown hair tied back in a pony tail.

She bumps into the two of you, then steps back and draws a dagger.

“Whoa! We aren’t looking for a fight!”

“What are you?”

“I’m, Nick. This is Carrie...”

“I didn’t ask who you are. I asked what you are.”

“Um...I’m a new hire in sales and marketing?”

Cassandra pulls out an antique silver cross. “Touch this.”

You lay your hand on it.

“Well, you aren’t a demon. What are you doing here?”

“We’re trying time escape. I knew there was something off about this place.”

Cassandra gives a pained chuckle. “Off doesn’t begin to describe it. There’s a portal to hell somewhere here. My friends and I came here to close it. Something turned my mentally disciplined, trained comrade into a Succubus. Now I need to get out of here and warn the Order.”

“You were trespassing?” Carrie asks, sounding cross.

Cassandra turns her attention to Carrie. Her eyes fixate on the black rod.

“Where did you get THAT?” She asks pointing at the shaft.”

Carrie turns red. “They gave it to me in HR when they were trying to hire me.”

“You didn’t stand in pentagram did you?”

Carrie just blushes more.

“Shit! This is bad, doubly bad.”

“What is it?” You ask.

“Unless I miss my guess, that is a Malexorum.”

“A what?”

“Legend has it a demon lord tired of the chaos within his realm. He wanted to **** and destroy souls in a grander fashion. To that end he needed order. A demon to keep both souls and demons in line. He created the Malexorum. He then kidnapped girls and gave them Malexorum. The rod devours the soul of the owner. Once finished the owner becomes a Malexorian demon. They are powerful demons of lust and pain. They are also unique in that the rod contains their light. They can smite demons as well as humans. Of course this means their is a demon lord here somewhere.”

“How do we get rid of it?”

“I don’t know. Malexorians are almost never seen on earth. They can easily pass as the humans they once were, but they always have their Malexorum.”

“Isn’t that a bit hard to conceal?”

“Malexorians have complete control over the Malexorum. They can turn it into a whip, a riding crop, a choker, even an earring. There is a tale of a Malexorian that snuck into the order with their Malexorum disguised as set of ben-wa balls hidden in her ass.”

“Does someone in the order know how to destroy that thing and how long do we have?”

“Tough questions. Maybe and it depends on the person. It can be minutes to as long as weeks.”

“Then we need to get out of here fast. How do we get by security?”

Carrie chimes in. “This may sound crazy, but what if I just give in? I’ll have a weapon capable of getting us out easily.”

Cassandra looks horrified. “Worst idea I’ve ever heard. If you give in you’ll be a demon. You’ll be as likely to kill us as help us.”

“Do you have a better idea?”
