On a 7-9, when you TRY TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL, you succeed, but embarrass Rebecca. Cross off the GOAL, gain +1 XP, and DEAL WITH YOUR HANGER-ON.

With Sapienta wrapped round your forearm, you feel an extra facility with the lines of magic flowing into the Conjuration of the Binding Vines. Your banishing and circle casting went smoothly, and now the summoning of the Binding Vines proceeds just as you've been practicing with Rebecca. You hear Mrs. Travers release the breath she's been holding as the vines coalesce from mist, rise from the floor, and wrap themselves around Rebecca's limbs. This time the vines are thicker and more active, and almost seem to have a mind of their own, rudely fondling Rebecca, a dozen supple appendages winding, squeezing, and touching Rebecca both atop and underneath her House Leontes robes.

Rebecca's cheeks flush pink. She tries to hold a calm expression, but the wiggling vines give her no mercy. Even when you command the vines to go through their few little tricks -- loosening, tightening, and lifting Rebecca from the floor -- one or another of the wiggling tips is somewhere up under her robes. You successfully resist laughing at the strained expression on her face. Even when Rebecca squeaks at some especially rude intrusion, you maintain the appearance of calm.

Finally, at Mrs. Travers' direction, you command the vines to release Rebecca and dismiss them with a word and a twirl of your wand.

"I am satisfied, Miss Redmoor," your Conjurations instructor tells you. "You have persevered. We'll move you along to the next sequence of conjuration exercises." She nods to Rebecca. "Thank you for being a good sport, Miss Honeybee." Mrs. Travers' silver clockwork hands glitter as she stows her wand and opens her record book. "The two of you...the three of you," she adds, nodding to Sapienta, "may go."

Once you're out of the Conjurations classroom and round the corner, Rebecca rounds on you. "Did you have to have those terrible vines come squirming up my skirts?" she says. "We never practiced it that way. You were practically smirking when I was fighting not to say a word. Did you make those vines go sniffing up my bum?"

Rebecca harangues you all the way back to your dormitory suite, and presses you to help her practice with her own next conjuration exercise.
