"Well, if you spent more time practicing and less in the library doing who knows what, you'd have managed the Binding Vines," Rebecca pronounces. Her own conjuration of the Shimmering Cloak had gone well, and she's determined that you should redeem your own honor and that of your dormitory suite.
Over the next few evenings, you go through the sequence. Cleanse, banish, cast circle, summon, dismiss, banish again. Without Mrs. Travers' disapproving eye and the whir and glitter of her silver hands, the conjuration goes more easily.
Rebecca doesn't seem to exactly enjoy being wrapped up in animated vine tendrils, but she insists you try the conjuration over and over again until you get it right.
The afternoon comes when you have time for your next test.

"We've been practicing!" Rebecca protests. "Every night. Golondrina had it working every time. It should just work now."
"Perhaps a little less enthusiasm, and a little more attention to detail," Mrs. Travers says. "Miss Honeybee, do you see where your right foot is?"
"Oh," Rebecca says, looking at her foot. She hangs her head down in discouragement. She'd backed up over the circle. That wouldn't always break a conjuration, but this time it seems to have been the breaking point.
"Miss Redmoor, Miss Honeybee, you shall attempt again next week," Mrs. Travers says. "Miss Honeybee, you may go. Miss Redmoor, stay."
On a Miss, keep the GOAL.
As an assigned task, roll to ENCOUNTER Mrs. Travers at -1. Use BRAVERY since Mrs. Travers is not part of a House. Roll +BRAVERY(+2) (+3 BRAVERY, -1 Forward).

"Have you been distracted, Miss Redmoor?" your Conjurations instructor asks. "You have been rather busy for a first-term student. And your affections for the Porter, while they are in many ways admirable, they will not prepare you well to be the witch that Boarbristle means you to be."
Having tried criticism last time, Mrs. Travers attempts supportive advice. You're surprised that she pries into some of the details of your time with Dorothy, and a glimmer in her eyes suggests she's fascinated by the business of bringing Boarbristle's beloved half-giantess to climax by ramming her two-handed with a wooden dildo as big around as your head, supplemented by caressing her plum-sized clitoris to bring her off.
"You did well in bringing the Wardens," Mrs. Travers says. "But your experience confirms that we must keep the Fifth House off limits." She takes a breath. "Perhaps...perhaps you will visit Dorothy again between terms."

You hold your face in a calm mask of melancholy. Without dreams? Did the Librarian tell your Conjurations instructor?
"Thank you, Mrs. Travers, I'll think on that."
Mrs. Travers' silver clockwork hands glitter and whir gently as she fidgets. "Very good, Miss Redmoor, you may go."
Dorothy the Porter, Marina Madeline, Housemaster Fergus Firetail, and Miss Wormwood are your FRIENDS and each except the Housemaster will freely grant one FAVOR. Your familiar Sapienta also counts as a FRIEND with a FAVOR.
